Not A Good Morning

Oh my Gosh! I am finally calming down.
I have been working with my grandson to get him to get ready and out the bus stop a few minutes early and in plenty time for the busdriver in the mornings. So this morning he was out there a couple minutes earlier that the regular pickup time. I was elated and really relieved. But, could it just so smoothly on February 1? No! I hear him and his mom coming in and trudging upstairs. The bus driver was just turning into the next lane and going away as they got out there.
I called the bus company and gave them an ear full. The guy checked with the bus driver and came back on to tell me he was there at the appropriate time and that they have told the driver not to wait because of the problems in the past with him getting out there on time. He had a GPS proving of the time he was there. Okay!
So I told Josh he was without priviledges since he didn't get out there early enough to meet the bus. He needs to be out there 4 or 5 minutes and was only there 2. He had a total melt down and his mom and I were fit to be tired. He is VERY intimidating when he is mad and when his video games and YouTube are taken he is mad.
So, I called the school and spoke to the social worker. She said that it was her understanding that the bus driver was to get there between 6:13a. and 6:18a. She is going to check with the driver and then call me back. That was at 7:30a. It's after 9a. now. It's a big mishap and so I let Josh have his priviledges with the understanding that he gets out there early enough that there is no problems in the future or privileges will be pulled.
When school was going back in session after Christmas break we got a phone call from the bus company telling us the time for the morning pick up had changed. It was now to be 6:18a. instead of the 6:26a. Okay. So we went forward that way until this morning. If that has been the case then the bus driver has been very nice to set there and wait for him to get out there right about 6:18a. And we completely in the dark about the 5 minute difference.
The bus company rep said nothing about 6:13a. at all. Just 6:18a.
So between the mix up with the time, Josh's break down and learning about the time difference for the first time I am rather upset.
Then I come on Mylot and found some remark on one of my posts that made me mad. I had made a funny comment on a members response. They put some comment on there saying that I really needed to be careful of what I said and use my words carefully. Well, here's what I think: If you don't have a sense of humor then you should not be on here. I get the impression that this person is either immature or overly sensitive. Maybe both. He/She seems to have blocked me.

Wow that sounds like a dilly of a way to start your day. If the bus pickup time is supposed to be 6:18 then here the kids are supposed to be out there 5 minutes ahead at least. It doesn't sound like your grandson was stalling this morning so I don't think he should be punished.

But, if it is actually between 6:13a.to 6:18a.then we have a problem. No wonder he is missing the bus. He was stalling. Wouldn't get up or he could have out there in plenty of time.

@celticeagle I am just confused on how I read it no biggie. I do think people here at mylot need to not take things to seriously and have a sense of humor. It is hard to tell sometimes how people mean things when it is written instead of spoken that is why it's best if we always give others the benefit of the doubt and take things kindly and assume that is how others meant them. I am sorry you experienced this at mylot with someone upsetting you.

@shaggin .......I have to have a sense of humor. With severe depression it is a must. I agree and if you have a question you PM the person, instead of making a scene in the discussion. This situation this morning wouldn't have bothered me as much if I hadn't already had the bus issue.

that's pretty frustrating when he is trying (I would suggest also setting the clock he uses to be out there, or everyone in the house fast by 2 minutes to give more leeway)

Ugh. I know how frustrating it is to get kids to get up and get ready right on time for school every morning . . . it's not an easy task, that's for sure. We aim for "earlier" but it just never seems to happen - but then I am the one who drives them after that. The whole bus timing thing would frustrate me too. Oh geez, some people just can't take things lightly . . . can't believe they blocked you on top of that!

Irritations like this spoil our day.I have always believed,if we are stressed,we could come here and feel better. And here at mylot some body has caused you more stress.I am sorry.I hope from tomorrow Josh will be ready when the bus arrives.

What a nightmare for you. I tend to tease and hope I never offend you- if so, I am sorry. Teasing/humor is a way to keep the ball rolling. Sitting on my posterior does no one any good for sure.

.
Not a good morning indeed, tomorrow will be better
