Decisions, decisions...

It's the worst thing about having any sizable collection of music..."What do I want to listen to next?" It's easy to spend 10-15 minutes (or more) just flipping through and debating if that one is what you are really in the mood for, or maybe that one... I finally settled on Eagles and their 'On The Border' release. I spent a 3-4 years looking for a used copy of this, and kept getting disappointed. I thought I finally found it once in a group on facebook, but that turned into a two-week ordeal where I finally filed a claim with PayPal to get refunded the money, since the 'seller' refused any communication. After another year or so of looking, I finally decided to give up and bought a brand-new reissue of it. Costs a bit more that way, but it was the only one I was lacking of their earlier material. I've had this about a year now, I think this is my third time playing it. "Music has charms to soothe the savage breast" - William Congreve

That's funny that you mentioned music by the Eagles. I love the Detroit rock that we tune in to in our area, but we won't be enjoying that after we move. I asked my husband if he could burn me a CD of the Eagles music but time is running out and he won't have any time until after the move now.

@JolietJake You mean melting albums don't you, I don't think that they'd burn.

My new car will play music from my phone via Bluetooth. I've been hearing the same like 50 songs over and over again. Must download more music! haha Guess what WON'T be downloaded?

Yes, it does. I wish my grandson would listen to more of it. I have CDs of my favorite bands greatest hits. I don't collect them now days. I wore out all my originals.

Does it still have "he who hesitates is lunch" carved in the close-out grooves? Bill Szymczyk was legendary for doing that on all the albums he produced.

I think the producer didn't do those, the person mastering the album did...this is not an original so it doesn't have it, but I know my 'Long Run' has something written on it, as do several other albums I have.

I used to spend 30 minutes trying to decide what to play before I got frustrated and just grabbed something. I feel your pain. But it's a good pain, knowing that you own all that great music!

It's hard for me to choose a favorite, their sound got a bit 'harder' when they added Joe Walsh to the band, but I like all of it

These days my music collection is mostly digital. I sold my vinyl to a collector years ago. One of the advantages of digital is you can pick a genre or a station that plays music similar to a certain artist you like and just let it play. Not always as satisfying as the old vinyl cuts, but convenient.

Sometimes you can have too much choice, can't you? I go back and forth through my bookshelves trying to work out what to read next.
