Are You Ready For Some Football? (I'm Not)

Today is Super Bowl Sunday and a big day for football fans. I'm not much into football and the only thing that entices me about the big game is halftime and the commercials. Even this year with Lady Gaga performing I doubt I'll be tuning in. My son in law and grandson are going to a friends house for a Super Bowl party so my daughter and granddaughter are coming here to spend the evening with me and my youngest daughter. We plan on watching a chick flick and have our snacks ready. Who needs football to enjoy snacking!! The hype this week has been all about food are popular for a Super Bowl party and mostly wings rate the highest. I also heard that almost as many calories are consumed at Super Bowl parties as on Thanksgiving. Now I don't know how true that is but I'm sure overindulgence between alcohol and food does add up to more calories than most people consume in one day. Whether you are going to a party or not I hope you have a great Sunday!

Superbowl certainly seems to attract a lot of attention - both game-wise and food-wise. It doesn't mean much to most Australians - or at least I don't think it does.

I think even those who aren't football fans use it as an excuse for a party and all the indulges that come with it

@Marilynda1225 So it's a good excuse to let one's hair down. :)

I'm tuning in just to see what happens, albeit half-heartedly. Our team is out, so it doesn't matter to us. My son won a football scholarship, believe it or not, from his preppy private school, where he was scouted. Brains and brawn. . I can't wait for spring training for baseball.

Seems that your son didn't use his football scholarship as a career choice so I guess brains won out. I'm more of baseball fan myself (Mets since I'm from NY)

@Marilynda1225 Yes, brains won out. Lol! Let's Go Mets! Woot! Woot! My men love you already! Where in NY? You could have been a Yankees fan.

We caught glimpses of the game. Hubby was not interested in watching it and I am not a big football fan.

I was happy that we didn't have to have the game on and that my son in law and grandson went elsewhere and we were able to have a girls night

I won't be watching the Super (stupid) bowl today-I am a football widow and always start counting down the weeks from when the preseason begins in August until today.

I'm always happy when football season is OVER and no tv shows are bumped because of it

I hope your non-Super Bowl party was a success with your daughters and granddaughter. My son and I watched a small portion of the game and the half time show. Saw the end of the game. We had a great day here watching Netflix.

I only saw the last few minutes when they went into overtime and the ending was exciting since I didn't care who won

Thank GOD for HULU or Netflix, I won't have to be bothered by all that football kadunk. All that fuss about grown men chasing a pigskin ball, cheeeeze.

No superbowl here for us. It is just a normal Sunday finishing off chores in preparation for the week ahead. What ever you do this evening have a great time!
