It's 4:00 am. You're having this dream, you know, the kind that you never remember. Slowly you become aware of something beside your bed No one made a noise but still you wake up It's dark, but I know there's someone beside the bed so I reach out my hand > EGADS it's a nose, a very very cold nose and the dern thing is right on my wrist Well, that's what happened this morning and guess whose face was almost in mine, oh, the first three answers don't count yeah, I thought it was funny, Ally doesn't do this so early that often so I knew it had to be important. Sooooo, I got up. Ally is bouncing around and looking at me with some kind of urgency. So of course I let her out. Now I'm sippin my 1st cup of jo and since Ally is back inside she's naturally napping, so very canine of her I've heard from some of my friends that their kids did similar things when they were very little, has that happened to you?

Did you stay up after you let her out or have you been up since then? I'd be taking a nap with Ally if I were you. I'm sure things like that happened way back when, but nothing that made an impression to last through the years.

I stayed up and I probably won't nap but who knows, it all depends on how tired I get.

Awww Yep, that was my very thought . . . my kids. My daughter rarely woke up in the middle of the night or that early in the morning, but my little son has. He's a tiny kid, but we hear his heavy foot steps on the hard wood floors - that's how I wake up .

@rebelann My husband gets up most of the nights around 3 AM because he has back pain, or a headache, or another problem and of course I wake up, because I am not a good sleeper.

Oh yes, when we had a dog she used to sleep on my bed, and she acted like an alarm clock.

They do make great alarm clocks if they'd just wake us when we need to be awakened. Did your's like to stick her cold nose on your wrist? Or worse, on your cheek?

I wouldn't like that @jaboUK my pups rarely licked me and Ally only licks my hand IF she needs me to pay attention to what she is trying to show me. Strange, huh?

I didn't experience that. For some reason, cats and dogs were not allowed on beds and sofas or up close and personal, ever. I think elders didn't like it.

That's sad. You never petted your pets at all?

@rebelann Oh I petted and played. Played "you are it" but those were places they were never allowed.

That only happens with the cats. Princess walks up the length of our bodies and does a kitty massage and tickles us with whiskers.

Prissy used to do that, she was my very first kitty and she'd always purrr so loud it would wake me before she got to my face. Cats are so funny sometimes. You just can't help but smile when they do that, right?

Preiti alerts me if she wants to go out no matter which part of othe night it is. She will nudge me awake.

None of my dogs were nudgers, most were whiners or like this one a starer

Only when they were sick did they come in my room to wake me, my sisters dogs do that to her and her hubby when they think it's time to get up.

That isn't good and definitely nothing to laugh about. But I'll bet your sister and BIL can relate to the cold noses.
