I've heard that new Adidas running shoes are being released made from plastic collected from the ocean. It is an attempt by the brand to make environmentally friendly products. They want to reduce the amount of plastic in the oceans and use it for a good purpose. The prototype of the shoe looks quite nice so it could be a success. What do you think? Read more about it here:
The prototype aims to raise awareness for protection of the seas.

I bet their prices are not reflected in their shoes. I would never buy their over priced products. After all most are made in sweat shops in China and one pair would probably be twice as much as a worker would earn in a month.

@garymarsh6 I fully agree Gary, I would never buy their shoes, even if the fiancee of my niece works for Adidas.

@tzwrites Yeah, true. If most of the companies take some initiative like this, many problems can be solved.

They should ban any type of dumping into the ocean

I think that we should stop using plastic. This is a good idea but it's more plastic that will add up to those already polluting the planet.

@tzwrites We can go back to materials we can recycle, like glass, paper, metal and so on.

I think we need to make people aware that the oceans need to be protected. My daughter and I have done a lot of beach cleanups and all the plastic and other items that we have removed from the beach is terrible. Would I wear the shoes? I'm not sure, as my walking shoes need to fit correctly and be comfortable. The only way I would know is to try them on first.

Sounds good in theory, but let's wait and see how it develops.

It would be wonderful if this became a great seller for them. It is awful to think of all the plastic that is in the oceans.

It's really a good idea...I hope that it will reduce the plastic deposits in the ocean at least by a small amount..
