Good afternoon.We are having a taste of Spring.
when we were a young man.Every Friday night.Mike and I go to a gay club.
This is the only place that we can do a lot of dancing.
It was so much fun.the clubs are still there.
mike and I became a hit on the dance floor.Mike was sort of shy but not me.
I dance and dance and dance away.
One of the songs was Papa was a rolling stones.
We were sort of a hit.They loved us.
Every time we go to the club.they wanted to see us perform.
The song of course as they put this on for us.
I missed those early days of gay life.
Not now.I happy and settled down.

Aw it is so nice to have these memories Fredo.
I wish I could see you two on video..bet you guys were a great hit.
I too have great memories like that. I loved to dance and I never missed a song often dancing by myself if I had to.

You may miss those wild and fun days, but remember, "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" was a hit in 1971. That was 46 years ago. Now it's more of that Nat Stuckey song: "my can do can't keep up with my want to."

I can picture it all now..sounds like some really good times. I love going out dancing. We do it every now and it is always so much fun.

I still sing in the shower those hits of the 60s. I was not a very good dancer, but I loved to dance.

@AbbyGreenhill.Abby that would have been great.We did not have a cell phones at that time.No camera etc.
They had a strict policy no pictures or video.This is for the protection of the patrons there.
no sorry .But it would have been nice.

I am afraid I don't dance I just feel so awkward that is not to say I don't enjoy watching others having fun though!

I love that song, I used to go out and dance too but the shootings got so bad its not safe anymore.

@andriaperry.Well in my days.There wasn't any shooting.Things were very quiet.Did not have any problem except for a few fights now and then.

That is awesome! Question, was gay life different back then in the 60s compared to now? I don't want to offend, I just want to get a little perspective, the whole picture. Thanks for sharing, im glad you guys had a wonderful time back then

@Librarygeek.Yes,it was very different.Today everything is open.No question asked.For us we had to be private.
As most of us were still in the closet.Now both of us are out and feel so comfortable with our life stye.
We are now married and been together for over forty five years.

You reminded me of my younger days when it was fun to dance the night away. I have to ask...do you and Mike still dance when that song comes on? I bet you still have your moves!!!
