Lactose Intolerance? What Dairy Products can you eat?

Many have this intolerance, and get sick if they drink ordinary milk.. but some foods are very low in lactose. Hard cheese and butter and fermented yogurts. You can also take good quality probiotic capsules. I use the ones from Neolife - Acidophilus Plus with 5 good bacteria - and they are working well!
Lactose-intolerant people don't have to avoid all dairy products. These 6 dairy foods have low levels of lactose and are usually well-tolerated.

I just keep to the normal yogurts that are probiotic as I find the other so called special low fat ones are much worse for some reason. Have no problems with the ordinary probiotic full fat ones at all. Reckon its something they must put int those so called special ones.

Well, who knows what they add, but full fat yogurt should be better than the low fat ones anyway. If we search on the net, we can find that milk fat can be good for us.. Also nuts can be added so we get more good fats. We actually need good fats to keep our cell membranes working well..

@buenavida I think that they add Aspartame and quite a lot of it and that is what I cannot tolerate most of all. They don“t say it on the packet but they say 0 % Sugar and low fat makes for a Colic with some people they have told me that. So there you are its not all what they make it out to be.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I have been avoiding aspartame for many years..
Dr. Mercola educates people on the dangers, side effects, and health problems linked to Aspartame, an artificial sweetener also known as NutraSweet and Equal.

We do not know anyone who is lactose-intolerant that has any dairy. They decided long ago to step away from the cow (and the buffalo and the goat).

I heard that if someone who is loctose intolerance, he/she can try the soy milk. This is why some people prefer to drink soy milk here. It comes from the soybeans and they are natural and healthy.

I can eat dairy products but not too often as it will cause my digestion system to slow down and they will give me constipation. I rarely eat therm but love cheese a lot but the love affair is not working out. I do take probiotics daily but it doesn't help with the milk products but still take them daily for other benefits.

We have one kind of cheese here - it is organic and with lactic acid bacteria, and it seems to go well to my friend who has digestion problems. But she still has to be careful not to take too much. I take oat bran with yogurt, and it helps to avoid constipation, and it is supposed to be healthy otherwise too..

@buenavida I don't have constipation. It is only when I eat cooked foods and that is why I mostly eat raw and vegan.

There seems to be more and more of these intolerances around. Luckily I don't seem to have any.

Perhaps you have enough of good bacteria in your digestion system?

The only cheese you can eat if you are lactose intolerant are natural aged cheese, like Parmesan, Swiss sbrinz and cheddar. I have the same problem, I can only eat those kind of cheese.

I like a cheese made in Sweden - it is organic and has no preservatives - they use lactic acid bacteria that works as a great preservative, and it is easily digested for many sensitive people.
