.... and it's aready put back away. For the past 3 days I've wanted to get the next section sewn on the paper pieced blocks. I just never found the time to get my machine out.
So, this morning, I got it out and got it done before I did anything else!
Now I will work on an off today and tomorrow trimming these pieces and pinning on the next (which is the last) piece on each block piece.
Next Friday evening is sit n' sew at the quilt shop. I'm not taking this project this time as now I know I can get it done before the April 24 deadline. Plus, 3 of the ladies that go to sit n' sew are in my quilt guild and will know which project is mine. The projects are voted on so you really aren't to show them to anyone ahead of time.

Paper piecing is something I keep thinking about trying. Right now I'm enjoying becoming reacquainted with my mothers treadle sewing machine. I want to try some free motion machine quilting on this old sewing machine.

I wish I knew how to free motion quilt...I can't see myself having the flow needed to do it.

@Morleyhunt good idea.....2 of my machines have the plate that go over the feed dogs, but I'm pretty sure the machine I use all the time you drop them.
I bought the darning foot for the one machine after learning Redwork....then never have used it. Can you do it with the regular foot that sits on the fabric?

@marsha32 start small. I've made a few placemats that have turned out well. It's easier to control something small. I am working with slightly bigger projects now.

@celticeagle What was complex was cleaning off the kitchen table! My son and his gf stopped by and he commented saying...omg, you really do have a table under there.

I have been following you for some time now and I started wondering just how many items you have made so far this year... I'm sure that the number of items you made last year would boggle the mind lol!!

Making clothes is about a lost art now with the cost of fabric and patterns now.

It feels good when a project comes together on time.

I didn't really know how to use one for a long time and there are still lots of things I don't know about them. I have 3 machines now....my daughter sometimes uses one of them and another one I only use when I need the walking foot...and then the one that I use all the time.
