I'm Seeing A Light In My Tunnel

Yes, the ole light in the tunnel is building up power. I can see the light brightening. I have felt good the last few days. Usually it is normal that I wake up and feel nauseated and yucky for the first hour or so. I even toss back and forth whether I should just lay back down and sleep away some more of the day. When I am really depressed I don't even go online right away which is my regular thing to do. That and turn the TV on for some noise in my world. It sure feels good to feel spring coming on. I feel some excitement and I am hopeful to get to feeling well enough to get on my mountain bike at some point and go riding on the greenbelt. I sure have missed that. For those of you that don't know-- I was diagnosed with severe depression with panic attacks in 2006. I took a early retirement soon after and soon after that got on SSDI. I have had some form of depression most of my life. It also have S.A.D. so the winters are doubly bleak for me. I hope this feeling lasts.

The fall and winter seasons are usually the worse for me as well. I think the worst part happens in the late part of November and early December. I am glad you are starting to feel better. I hope that Spring comes soon to all of us. It would do us all a world of good to be outside more.

I have the attitude that I am retired and I can eat and drink what I like. I will die regardless. I enjoy eating and so I am doing so.

I know you mean the feeling that spring is in the air and you can ride your bike eventually, which is a great feeling by comparison. Lol, you follow that small comment/sentence after talking about things being bleak. I had to look twice and then remember what was said before. I hope things look up for you. I've had mild depression too, but not where it's dibilitating. I'm getting up earlier than normal lately. Tonight I'm hoping for a great night's sleep on the couch and if that happens maybe no nap tomorrow which would be great.

I realize that you are not old. I also know that I can't stand my corner of the world's senior center and yet I wonder if getting out with others for even a half hour a week wouldn't do you good? And here I sit preferring my little acreage to people. I'm not much help to you and I'm sorry for that.

@celticeagle My Dad smoked and hacked his way to 68. Your thoughtful comment reminds me of my days in Overeaters Anonymous- wow I was mortified to be there and deeply horrified at the very idea of sharing me. Folks sat there and did their thing, sharing and loving. One day I bust out with ME. And not a soul said one negative thing. I cried at almost every meeting after that for about a month. It hurts to rip a band aide off a wound or wounds but sometimes you just got to get that infection out before a person loses a limb.

Oh good, the slight turning towards spring does always feel good, to all of us, but I know it is helpful for you and others who are depressed and weather affected.
