I Have A Secret

As many of you know already I have severe depression with panic attacks. No antidepressant helps and I have even had the DNA testing done. I have committed to live here with my daughter, who is bi-polar, and help her raise her son who has Oppositional Defiant Disorder and is 14. It is not easy. Some days my daughter comes in here, sets down and just cries. She says she doesn't know why. Other days she does and its because her son has been so nasty to her. These type of days are fewer now. Thank goodness. The meds they have taking and finally the right amount and are doing the trick. We still have some hair raising days but not nearly as many as we used to.
When I get panic stricken and just don't think I can cope any further you know what I have found to do? I turn on one of the kid's channels and watch a few cartoons. They make me laugh. So innocent and yet such a avant garde thing to do. I'm 65 years young and watching cartoons. Can you believe it? Don't tell anyone okay?

Do you watch "Tom and Jerry" I do but I have to watch them on youtube now as they do not show them anymore for Children.
I have had very close experience with someone who had the kind of disorder that you telling us about in your Grandson.
It was quite alarming for me and once in fact more than once my Husband had to go and rescue the Mother not saying anymore than that.
We never knew peace and quiet for a long time.
Walls in Flats are paper thin over here so we heard most of the things said even if we did not want to.

That is great!!!!!!!!!
If it works that is great and nothing to be ashamed of.
As far as your daughter crying, I have Fibromyalgia and get depressed and sad sometimes and just start crying.
But it passes.
Good luck!
Maybe she should watch cartoons

Dealing with depression and panic attacks is not an easy thing. I suffer from depression also. But having that and a daughter with bi-polar and a grandson with a condition, I can only imagine how hair rating it could get. But things do get better. And I think watching cartoons is a wonderful idea. If it helps, so what.

It's good for you the cartoons help with your panic attacks. I have mild depression and anxiety but can manage to get by everyday. What causes your severe depression and panic attacks?

Depression is caused by the break in the electronic wiring in my brain. The panic attacks are brought on when I feel something coming on that I have no control over or that I feel at a loss of doing anything about. My grandson is ODD and my daughter is bi-polar. They have extreme moods that bring these on also.
