Diary 12th And 13th March 2017

Diary – Sunday March 12th 2017 I hit the library today to do some job searching, and still find it weird to have a public library open on Sundays, but it is very welcome. Later, I hit on the idea of selling more of my unused junk on e-bay. I’m already preparing to sell coins there, but I also have unused modelling figures, board games and sets of playing cards as well as a BBQ set I won in a raffle. The cards are interesting as when I looked to see what they fetch as set packs, many sellers sell hem as individual cards which increases the value of each rather than getting a one of price for the set. Diary – Monday March 13th 2017 Much an extended continuation of yesterday with more Ebay research into potential sales and going to the shops for a few basic packaging aides. The biggest problem on e-bay is working out the postage to add per item. Some are quite bulky. I did more job searching too. Arthur Chappell

I think that all our libraries are closed on Sunday. I have a lot of stuff I would like to say, I wonder if a flea market would be a better solution than selling on eBay.

@LadyDuck I would need a lot more stuff to make a market stall work, and then I'd need to transport it there though I don't drive

@arthurchappell No, I do not plan to place a market stall, but here there are places that buy your old stuff and then resell them in flea markets. I know I will get less than selling myself, but it could be easier.

@LadyDuck nothing i'm selling is of much value so selling to/ through a third party would give very little return - I won't get a lot anyhow

I'm pleased you put in that last sentence about the job searching ... those cheeky eejits at the job centre might be checking up on you!

@Poppylicious do actually do the job searching though it is often highly unproductive

any local FB swap/shop/sell sites? I have sold a mattress on that, and am selling a dog crate there now.

@sol_cee didn't talk to the library staff - just went straight to the computers

Trying to work out postage is a real bugbear. We do have a accurate set of scales which measures grams and that's very handy.

Out of all the libraries here, I think only two branches are open on Sunday.

Nice that you are finding a way to increase your income. I used to be on Ebay a lot but haven't recently. I just don't buy much anymore. Hope this goes well.
