Stella!!!!

Stella is the name they gave this snow storm. I don't know when they started naming snowstorms but Stella will go down as a nasty piece of work as she rages outside. So far we have over a foot of snow and it's coming down like it's never going to stop. It's almost white-out conditions and I can barely see the house across the street. But, the good news is we still have power and internet so I am making my coffee and can myLot for awhile. The internet is VERY slow this morning but at least I have a connection. Who knows what the day will bring but at least I am starting out on a good note. What's going on with you today?

It is very cool, in the 50s. It will go up to the 60 later in the day. I think we will go out to the movies later and see LA LA Land.

Connecticut is closed down by order of the Governor. Stella is a biggie, and a reason why I'm where I am!

The name all climatic disasters so I wouldn't be surprised if the snowstorm worsened. Hopefully it won't be that bad.

Storms are named, not climatic disasters.
Hurricane Matthew left hundreds dead and flattened thousands of homes in its trail of destruction through the Caribbean and along the east coast of the US.

@MALUSE oh! I remember watching on the news that many countries suggest a list of 10 names. Then, one name gets chosen from each list as new havocs occur!

Stella means Star in Italian, a strange name for a snowstorm. We have a beautiful sunny day, warm for the season.

I do this is a one storm thing.Stella is for people to watch scamming and gouging. When we have a disaster they gouging gas, snow blower, etc.they do not want this to happen and be prepared for this.

Our local hardware stores had to get all that snow stuff out of storage since they had figured the season was over and were ready for spring. I'm sure price gouging will happen when people need shovels, snow blowers etc

Not a lot really my friend but glad to hear you are safe and sound from that raging storm up there. I remember those ferocious storms when I lived by the sea on the North Shore. Exciting but treacherous.

Treacherous is exactly the right word. I'm watching the news and it boggles my mind when I see people traveling and getting stuck or into accidents

Sorry that your Stella is so mean to your area. Here, Toronto area, right now not bad at all, but who knows for how long. Like you wrote, at least you haven't lost your power, you have your coffee and your Internet, so you day will be okay. Just don't go out there driving.

You are getting it good. Stay inside and enjoy the power while you have it and be prepared. Very cold here and will get colder tonight.....but not a flake.

This is definitely a nasty storm where I live in CT. I haven't lost power and I do have a generator ust in case. We're expecting up to 20 inches plus sleet and freezing rain later.
