Buffet is not good for health. Do you agree?

Every time I go for a buffet, I see people are having much more than necessary. Why cannot they have better control, and how did such service come to being in the first place?

I like a buffet but only because of the different choices @zhuhuifen46 . Then I take small portions of just a few. After that's eaten, I'm done. I don't go back for more. But I know what you mean. I've seen people 'load' their plates and go back for more. That's why so many people in the USA are obese.

Some people do not think of overeating a problem until it is too late.

Buffets are brilliant if they are done well...food needs to be kept to temperature and replenished regularly. As for the health thing that's purely up to the individual who has the option to take as much or as little as they desire. So no I wouldn't agree buffets are bad for health it's our responsibility to make healthy or non healthy choices.

I used to be one of those people! You want to "get your money's worth" and figure you'll load up and make every dollar count. Once I realized I had an eating problem I worked very hard on portion control. I don't go to a buffet often now but when I do I get just one plate and that's it. And no stacking stuff atop one another! I rarely get all I want to eat but I enjoy what I get and when I leave I'm full but not uncomfortable. That's how it should be. The only buffets I really enjoy are Chinese. But if you've ever been there and seen the workers/owners having their own meal you'll notice they don't eat what it put out for the customers--they have mostly vegetables, steamed, and a little meat, very little sauce, and eat fruit for dessert if they even have dessert.

I fully agree, if you care about your health stay away from buffets.

I think Buffets are something that people enjoy on occasion. It is not something that people do all the time. People tend to overindulge but if you are not doing it often then I don't see it doing any harm. I have not been in a buffet in many years.

I lost weight eating buffets for an entire week while in Las Vegas. Its what you put on that plate and people need to learn portion control. Its important for me to make good choices, as several family members enjoy going to places with calories.

I agree with you. We are forced to eat extra food in the buffet so that the money will be worth to it And being so full is a terrible feeling. I experienced it and finally I had to go home on foot This is why I don't like having buffet because this is not a healthy diet.

Depends on the type of food.
