Project update
The other day I posted about a new project which I’ve been meaning to start for some time, but with being so busy I just haven’t got around to starting until now.
AS normal another busy week with Etsy orders but I’ve had time to made a start of the project and done the rib so start as you can see in the video.
Now the fun begins and the pattern starts, I think the next update will be when I’ve reached the pockets seeing I’m doing the back and the front at the same time. From the end of the rib until I reach the pockets it a total of 32 rows plus 2 set up rows, 50 in total including the rib and about 2.5 hours work.

It's a bit late in the season to be doing cardigans!

Yes I know it is, just been way too busy with other things, but I'm sure it will come in handy on colder days and i have to finish it yet which could take me some time, but no real rush on that.

@ScribbledAdNauseum No, a friend asked me about it some time ago, but I was busy and they understood I was.

@kevin1877uk Atleast you aren't having to rush to make it, which is good. Did this order come about because of the baby cardigan you made a few weeks back?

@kevin1877uk I would imagine that the time frame would also be rather long.

This project is for someone and it's kinda fun doing a video diary of doing it. I do have one in my store, made to order only, but I can't ever see anyone buying one, then you never know. There is way too much work involved in making one to ever make anything out of it.

@kevin1877uk Perhaps with you making a public video diary, the interest for the cardigan will increase. How long does it take from start to finish?

Getting started is the first hurdle. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress. I finally opened my Etsy store. Five quilts to start with...hopefully I can get more photos and more quits...wallhangings...bags posted before the week is done.

@Morleyhunt in this case, since he asked, it is fine. You can always just give the name of the shop and he can search for it on etsy himself.

Yes, I agree although I'm good a seaming but doing it all in one will be better, only the sleeves to seam.

@JudyEv Yes you really need to be neat, I never was but with time I have become, although if I could I would gladly send they the pieces to seem themselves lol, it's not something I look forward to doing, but it's something you have to do.

@kevin1877uk If you are selling your work, the seams would need to be really neat. I used to hate sewing up seams in crocheted garments as they were sometimes hard to do neatly.

Oh, that go vary so much. I guess the quickest one I've ever done was in 3 days but I couldn't hang around in doing it as it was needed quickly and it was an easy one to knit, just knit a row, purl a row.
The one in the video never got finished, I kinda got busy with other things, but have started it again however in a different colour. The one in the video, ok you can't see much of how it would look but there is a lot of work involved, I knitted one like it before and worked out to be about 90-100 hours of work to knit it

@Hannihar If I'm looking for a pattern I often go to Ravelry and see what they might have, I often take bit from one and then another to make it work for what I'm looking for to do. I can look at a design and make it from that without looking at a pattern, say if I see something in a store/shop window. I can design and write my own patterns, I think I have 3 patterns currently but really it should be more. Something I need to put right this year and get my patterns published.

@kevin1877uk
So kevin, when you decide to knit something do you follow a pattern or go on youtube to see how it is done or what?
