Do You Like Female Dogs Better Or Male Dogs Better

You could like them the same and that is fine too. I personally think the best combination is a male and a female, as they tend to balance each other out. You also get the best traits of both sexes. I would just probably neuter the male dog at least, unless you are trying to breed them.
I personally think I like male dogs better. Of course, I am just going on what I experienced with the dogs I have ever owned. Males are usually harder to control depending on the breed you get. Females seem more laid back, but also seem to be a bit more needy.
I also like the way my old male German Shepherd guarded the house, as opposed to my current female one. He only barked when necessary and had a very stout bark to where people knew he was not playing. Kai barks at everything, even things that are not there. It sometimes appears she seems to be playing which could give people the wrong idea.
I am sure if my old male German Shepherd was alive he would have taught her those things, but he is not and "shush Kai" is not nearly as effective as what he could have taught her. If we had her in his prime, I am sure she would have balanced out his aggressive towards other dogs and people he did not like.
What do you think? Do you like female dogs or male dogs better, maybe both the same.

I have two dogs (one male & one female) both rescues. They each have their own personalities so it would be hard for me to have a preference

Yeah, I prefer the combo of 1 female and male. I think that works best. Male and male can be trouble and sometimes so can female and female, but not as bad as two males if they both want to be alpha.

First off, I love that photo, those two are beautiful.
I don't know if I really have a preference but so far I've only had one male. He was a good protector and wonderful buddy but so was a previous female I had. I think it depends on breed or mix.

Thank You, and you are probably right depends on breed and really just personality of dog. I have seen male dogs need a lot of attention and seen female dogs be quite overly aggressive at times also. My old female Siberian Husky was quite mean also. She actually killed one of her babies because I guess she thought it was to weak for the world.

I've never known a mean husky, usually they are shy ... well with people that is ... as for killing their young, as you said there was probably something wrong with the pup @crossbones27 from what I've read, huskies tend to be shy around people but very strong towards other canines, some can be formidable.

@rebelann She was not mean to people, and not really to other dogs either. She did not tolerate certain things though, had to always be careful not to go do something she did not like because she would let you know man or dog. lol She was not the goofball my two female dogs are now.

Yeah, just people's preference with a certain dog breeds and their own personal personality traits I would imagine.

I agree, to many dogs as is and people should get them from a shelter first. That is only if people are ready to put in the work that it takes to care for a dog or dogs.

@crossbones27 Work. Yes glorious work- both my pups as I call them know the rudimentary stuff though both are rather lazy on heeling well and always. (Get to work, human!) I love telling the pups "in the gate!" gesture toward front gate and in they go instead of running off into trouble. Never underestimate a dog's brain cells.

They do seem to be more laid back in temperament for the most part. From what I have seen anyway.

They do indeed, and that is great you would like either the same.
