For the past two weeks I have been limited to liquids and very soft food. In other words, I could eat what I wanted as long as I didn't have to chew it. Starting today I can, at last, eat more solid foods. Yeah!!! I though and thought about it and finally decided on meatloaf, baked potato, and squash. I wanted to make sure I was still eating something that would be softer yet I could chew. I am so looking forward to dinner. I know I will enjoy every little morsel. What would you chose as a first meal after having soft food and liquids for a period of time?

Spaghetti, it's my comfort food. Or maybe an omelet with sausage, taters and chili. Dang it, I just made myself hungry

Chicken for sure. Enjoy your meatloaf. I am making turkey meatloaf today - only made it once in my life.

@HazySue I'll find out - I used to make turkey burgers a lot so I guess it's similar.

@AbbyGreenhill it seems to me that if you like turkey burgers you would like turkey meatloaf.

Fish maybe or something not real substantial to begin with. I wouldn't put my stomach and digestion system to high a work out at first go after soft foods for so long. So unfair of you to show this picture. Meatloaf. We are working on the very dregs of our pantry until next week. Ugh! Looks so good.

Fish is a great choice. Tonight I am having baked flounder. The meatloaf was delicious. I am lucky I am not at the end of my food supply, I guess being on a liquid and soft food diet helped save some for us for the last wee of this month.

When I had my first ever food after my operation, I had pork barbecue. I ate them all pork. And what after? You know what I mean.

I know what you mean. I am eating a good size potato, a big spoonful of squash, and a thin slice of the meatloaf. I don't want too much of a good thing too soon.

Your meal is an excellent choice. I would probably pick the same one or something like that as a first solid meal after liquids for two weeks.

It seemed to me that the combination of foods would be good and easier on the tummy.

Why was you on a liquid food? Are you okay? And for me I am a food lover you know, I don't know how even I will manage to stay for than a day on liquid or restricted food.

I was having problems with bleeding in my mouth. It would spontaneously bleed and I was losing a lot of blood. They still have not figured out the why of it but it has almost stopped on it's own.

I will have all types of meat. When I was in a Muslim country before, I can't able to eat pork meat for a year. I was so happy going back after a year mission in Tajikistan. As I arrived and exited to the airport, I asked to go to a near restaurant and ordered a pork meat.

I have found that whatever I am not allowed to eat stays in my mind and I crave it. Glad you got to finally eat your pork.

I love meatloaf so that would probably be my choice along with mashed potatoes! I'm sure you'll enjoy your meal after not being able to eat solid food for awhile

I enjoyed every bite. I was torn between maed potatoes and baked potato but the baked won. I melted cheese on the top and it was delicious.

I think one of the reasons I chose meatloaf was the ease of chewing it.
