The Blessings of a Stocked Larder

I was trying to decide what we would eat last night. Eating out is out of the question right now, because hubby gets in from his treatment about the time I need to eat.
Suddenly I remembered the last turkey I cooked.
In my deep freeze were two one gallon bags of cooked turkey, with no bones.
Last night we had turkey with stuffing, mushrooms and onions chopped in. For sides we had cucumbers, tomatoes, and steamed asparagus.
Cannot get that good a meal at most restaurants.
I felt blessed.

Larder is all of your stored pantry foods and freezer foods. It is an old fashioned and outdated word. I like cooking in bulk and keeping it for later. @andriaperry cans almost all of her extra foods. I need to learn to do that.

Your post reminded my that I have some turkey stuffing I have not yet eaten. I´ll check it. I don´t like to "forget" food in the freezer until forever.

You are right. It needs to be used while it is still tasty.

@GardenGerty Sometimes some food gets lost in the freezer and we don´t use it when it is in its prime.
