Hound Dawgs in the Garden

Vince plays golf regularly with a bunch of friends. Today they came to the house for a barbecue to celebrate Vince's 70th birthday. It was a men only affair but luckily I'd been invited to a garden club meeting. We listened to a member who volunteers at a local herbarium which is focussed on preserving our native plants. I took this opportunity to snap a photo of some hound dawgs which had found something interesting in the garden. These creations made from scraps fascinate me. Aren't they just the cutest?

They are adorable, and so expressive with just a few pieces of scrap. Makes me wonder what they found. Great picture. I'm glad you had something to do during Vince's men only affair.

@JudyEv They really are and so like dogs - one looking on while the other sniffs out whatever he found. I'm glad you had an enjoyable time.

They are expressive aren't they? The tail is straight up and the eyes so alert. It was a good solution for me. I enjoyed my afternoon.

Some people can look at a piece of junk and see something else, can't they? I'm not able to do that. To me, it just stays a piece of junk!

The next little town along was populated with hippies years back and the arty crafty people still seem to congregate there.

@amadeo Of course! I think I had a 'senior moment' or two yesterday. I had to query three or four comments and they were really obvious once they were explained! Have a great day Alfredo.

How do you mean 'Elvis was there'? You'll have to forgive me if it is obvious but I've been a bit thick today.

That must be quite a struggle, holding back invasive species. We have enough problems here with Japanese knotweed. The local council has been marking out patches around here

We've had a number of garden species which have gone feral. The arum lily is one; lantana, bridal creeper, etc, etc. You also have the muntjac deer and the red squirrel, don't you?

I did chuckle reading about golf, as its the one sport I really am bad. My husband enjoys playing and can't believe how many of my balls can hit the water. I asked him once, if I'm to go into the water to fish out balls and everyone in the group laughed and told me there are plenty of balls to play.

It is amazing how the balls can find their way into the water. It is as if there is a big magnet attracting them.
