I have an organic garden and love ladybugs. Some of the ladybugs are in my greenhouse. One place to get ladybugs is Armstrong Garden Centers and I enjoy seeing all the items that are available there. The time to visit is April 28 to April 30th to get ladybugs for free with any purchase. In past years they have run out, so go early, if your looking for free ladybugs.

There are many locations in California many in Southern California. Also there is one in Atlanta, Georgia and not sure if there are any others now. They have been expanding.

@Fishmomma very interesting. we have none in CT that I am aware of. The free ladybug giveaway is a great way to get people in the door.

How do they gather up ladybugs? Do they breed them somehow?

Lady bugs are captured in their hibernating state and put in a bag or cup. People should wet the area and let them out at night. They have to get use to their new home and need plenty of bugs and water.

I don't think it would ever occur to me that one could buy lady bugs. Incidentally, I know a woman who thought you could buy squirrels at a pet store.

There are a lot of organic plant growers in this area. The price of produce in the stores is high for certain produce, so trying to grow more fruit and vegetables.

There are plenty of ladybugs in my garden, they come inside when I open the windows. They are cute little insects and useful in the garden.

I do enjoy watching them on the plants. They move so quick and really enjoy exploring in my yard.

I noticed they didn't this year was surprised, but the odd weather might be a factor in this area.
