What happened with my April’s myLot goal?

# 67 The goal was to push the bigger number inside that yellow border to 700. In the beginning of April that number was 556. It fluctuated daily as expected, and a week into the month, the number did reach 700. However, it didn’t stay there for long before it started to decline again. And by end of month, although it has increased from 500 to 600-range, it did not quite make it to 700. Oh, well! I did have fun watching that number throughout the month. I now have a better idea how it fluctuates. Thank you to all who contributed to that number – and special thanks to some members (you know who you are) who went the extra miles willingly without me asking them to participate in this fun activity. I have to stress here though this is just purely a fun or playful activity. In case you are curious if increased notifications mean increased earning, as I have always suspected this activity confirmed that is not necessarily the case. The small number inside the red circle in my screenshot shows the highest I have ever received overnight. Yet, I have only earned $0.0226 that day – way below my daily average of a dime a day. Conclusion – I’m probably the only one who will find this to be a fun activity. I suggest others to just carry on with whatever myLotting way you’re comfortable with. The only thing I’d like to remind everyone as I remind myself is to just mind the rules. Happy myLotting!

The reason why the number fluctuates is that Notifications are automatically deleted when they are a week old, so that every day the older ones fall off the bottom of the list. It's entirely your choice, of course, what you do with your notifications. Personally, I prefer to delete them as soon as I have dealt with them (which is usually several times a day). As a result, I have no record of how much or how little interaction I've received every day. I do have other 'games', though - such as tracking the number of discussions, responses and comments per day and calculating the total 'activity' (which, of course, has little or no bearing on my personal statistics!)

@sishy7 It's very interesting to see that activity had a sudden jump in January over last year. There are now more than 400 discussions posted every day but the average of the responses per discussion has stayed remarkably steady at around 8 or 9 and the number of comments per response has also been roughly the same at around 2. I also see that Saturdays and Sundays see a lower activity overall than the other days. I suppose that's understandable, since most people have other things to do at the weekend.

@owlwings Oooh... that 400 discussions a day is roughly what I have in mind too. I use it to 'estimate' how slow or busy the site is at the time I'm logged in. I usually count how many recent discussions are posted in the last hour - keeping 15 to 20 discussions as average, so anything below that would be 'slow' and above 20 would be 'busy'. Thank you for the information on the average numbers related to responses and comments. I'll keep that in mind too. Too bad I don't have the figures for total responses on my discussions and total comments on my responses readily available to see if I'm above/average/below the overall site's average.

Yeah, while I was chasing number 700 I was fully aware how others might be working toward turning the number to zero... I like your 'games' - that is totally something that I'd love to keep track on too.

@sishy7 It does not matter since you will get pay this month. Enjoy and have fun. The more your interact then more you can earn, that is the secret.

How can you have so many notifications? I suspect you have checked to receive notifications for everything. I unchecked most of the options. MyLot is not an earning site, it's a site where to have fun, but many seem only obsessed by the earnings. Have fun and forget about the money.

I'd be gone a long time ago if it were for the money and not for the fun... Yes, I checked everything and I don't delete them manually as I go through notifications.

Your conclusion . If my numbers get too high - I just have a panic attack . I know I have let a lot of notifications slide . . . not on purpose of course, but I just cannot keep up. The numbers go up and down - and all around - and you know I am definitely not one to keep track of anything. But - I'm glad we're all still here and plugging away as best we can . . . let's hope May - and every month - will be good as it can possibly be .

LOL! (I think I am going to start calling you my little sister, Dearheart! My sister is the only other person who likes numbers as much as you seem to! She gets us to do weird experiments sometimes, too! All "without asking for us to help", too!) Uhhh.. before you agree to that, you should know that I adopted Raja as my little brother some time ago. I even get to call him bhai! He might try to make something else out of him being my little brother and you my little sister, although, he might object to me calling you that, too, since he is hot on your trail!

He wants me to come to India that silly boy! I have already been thinking of another non-$ myLot goal but definitely involving numbers which I'm sure would make other members yet once again with its triviality... I'll probably do it for June...

@sishy7 Yes, I know, Dearheart! He dreams of marrying you! While I have no doubt he would make some young woman an excellent hubby, I don't think you are that young woman. For one thing, you have children his age. You are also happily married already. I have no doubt your husband would object, strenuously!, to you either taking a second husband or letting you get divorced to marry my brother! I have absolutely no doubt that you would find him beautiful, but I don't believe I will be attending a wedding featuring the two of you. (Did you ever find him on Facebook? He is a handsome little devil, but he also knows it! LMAO!)

I'm glad you had fun watching the number. We all have different goals and mine have changed over time. Some sites I do to earn like the K-mart/Sears, as it means being able to afford healthy eating, as K-mart has fresh produce and this is one I come to just chat with people.

I've never noticed that number before. All I know is that I make somewhere around 20 cents or more a day and that's when I'm active. I'm not able to be active every day.
