Applesauce: Easy to make and delicious too

Apples for applesauce by Pat Z Anthony

Our applesauce might be a little different to some readers. We don't process our apples in the typical manner most do for applesauce. The applesauce we make is raw, with just a bit of lemon and cinnamon. The photo here is of apples ready to blend. Those who want to store applesauce in the manner canned applesauce is stored won't be able to use this method, but it is perfect for us. We merely blend the apples with some lemon and cinnamon until they are applesauce and eat or store in the refrigerator. Raw foods are healthier than those that are processed. Raw applesauce is one way to be sure you are getting what the apple has to offer.

@Lupita234 We would too. Although we don't have apple trees on our property, someone close to us does.

@Nawsheen If more people would do that, they could improve their health. Not everyone will listen. Sounds like your mother has a good doctor.

I do make my own homemade applesauce but I cook it and pit it through a food mill, my husband would not eat raw apples, it is a texture thing for him, he is opposed to crunchy.

Oh I love to cook sliced apples in a bit of sugar and cinnamon. Sometimes I smash it, but most of the time we just enjoy it. I just got a bag of apples from the food bank and now you are making me want to go make some right now.
