We are off to visit my sister again tomorrow. Soon after we arrive we’ll take her to another town to see a lawyer. She is divorced and has five sons. Although the divorce has been finalised, the division of the estate involves a farm which has been in the family for quite some time. There is now a dispute over a trust account.
One lawyer in her home town has her ex-husband as a client and the other law firm has her son. It has now got to the stage where she needs a lawyer for herself so she has been forced to go to a neighbouring town.
While not wanting to be involved, we are supporting my sister in whatever way we can. It is all very sad and my sister is finding it very stressful. At 78 all she wants is a quiet and peaceful life. She doesn’t care if she gets nothing for herself but if she doesn’t fight this situation, one son will get the whole farm and the other four nothing. Unfortunately I think the situation is going to get worse before it gets better but that’s what we’re doing tomorrow.
It will be another short myLotting day but hopefully I won’t miss too many of your great posts.
The photo is of a pet sheep from a previous life. This one is Baasil. She was a flock sheep who was so greedy that she virtually tamed herself. Note that I said 'who' not 'that' or 'which'.

@JudyEv Yes, they do. I used to catch my cat sitting quietly and studying how I did different things. I'm sure she really thought she was a mini me, so she had to learn these things. For example, in her water bowl in summer, I'd put an ice cube. To get her attention, I would poke at it with my finger. One day I saw her put her paw into her water and poke at her ice cube a few times. It was just the cutest thing ever!

Its really sad to know how at this age your sister has to fight for her four sons. Great that you are supporting her, all the best for the court trials, and that sheep looks real cute.

She seems to have a chubby tummy, due to her greed. Divorces, and inheritances can cause a lot of grief.

She was very greedy. You are right about inheritances and divorces. People seem to change completely sometimes.

Wish I had a place and a pet like that. I wonder why some people could be so greedy, he wants to keep all for himself and deprive the rest of his siblings and at the same time battle his own mother in court

It's quite complex. The farm isn't big enough for them all but the younger four have been led to believe there would be something for them, even a small cash sum. But the older one is now saying he has nothing for them. I think it has been finalised now.

Weaning time is pretty sad. Luckilly all our pets have been rescues so we didn't need to worry about parting mums and bubs.

Sorry to hear about your sister's situation. So sad to have people once falling in love with each other and then falling out of love later on. Just hope that she will be strong. You are doing the right thing by being by her side and support her in this hard time.
And I like your Baasil too.

Thank you. Baasil was a nice sheep although she did love her food.
