Daughter and granddog packing up the car...

That's what you see in the photo. All my children were here over the weekend, it is always fun to see them interact as adults. My daughter stayed the longest, she went home on Monday with her partner and my grand-dog. Zuzu the grand-dog loves to visit me but when mom starts packing the car she stands right there so they don't forget her and leave her behind. This weekend was exciting for Zuzu. She discovered a bunny rabbit and took off chasing it when I took her outside to do her business, She stopped when I yelled at her and came right back (such a good girl). According to my daughter Zuzu has never seen a rabbit before. She lives in farm country so I found that hard to believe but my daughter said they don't have rabbits because they have coyotes. I'm happy to have rabbits and no coyotes.. My lawn has just been seeded and is not pretty but it will be soon... What about you - do you have wild life around your house?

I love hearing about animals I've never seen...I looked it up and I've seen it on TV or in Movies, never face to face that I know of...its looks cute but I'll bet its not friendly.

I think I'd rather rabbits than coyotes too.

Just snakes but I don't want to meet one. They can stay hidden and ignore me. I live in a village surrounded by trees. Thankfully, that's the wildest creature around. But of course I don't venture deeper into the forest. I'm not up for an adventure as wild boars also live there. Who knows what else I might come across.

I have heard wild boars are dangerous. I don't like snakes either, they scare me every time I see one. I am getting better with age so I now know if they are dangerous or friendly. We never see the dangerous ones.

She sounds like a wonderful dog. Only squirrels and rabbits. Lots of geese. I saw a pair of geese with their goslings today.

I love seeing the geese but I don't see them right here, in the country where there is water we see them a lot. They tend to land on our rood tops while they travel, Love seeing them on the roof....(Canada Geese)

There are porcupines in my neighborhood in Jerusalem. They only walk around late in the night in the garden and in the parking next to our building. If you meet one of them face to face at night, it's a little scary, To my neighbor happened, and she just started screaming in terror and waking everyone up ...LOL

Thanks for the laugh. I know they can be scary but I also know they will run faster away from us than we can run away from them. In the US and Canada we have rabies in some wild animals, so if they try to bother us we know they are sick and make sure we stay away from them.

All sorts. We have rabbits and ground hogs.. quite a few of them. I keep my dog on a leash when he goes outside. He's not good enough to come back if he starts running off.

Zuzu got curious because she never saw a rabbit before. Unfortunately we do not have much wildlife where I live. However we have monkeys coming around very rarely though

@PainsOnSlate yes. We have lots of them over here. But unfortunately they are often captured and sent to Europe where they are subject to laboratory experiments

No I live near the city so no wildlife unless you may walk the trails. And that would only be the odd one. A lovely photo that captures the dog waiting to go.

Zuzu is cute. We have no rabbits and no coyotes, but we have hedgehogs, badges, foxes, wild ferrets and wild boars.

@PainsOnSlate The wild boars are dangerous, especially the female when they have their piglets.

@PainsOnSlate That is so true but I've never seen a cat catch a bird in my garden.. Cats aren't welcome in my garden - they dig up my flower beds doing their business.. I like them in other locations though.

What a cutie Zuzu is! I only saw one rabbit here, and that was last year. We do have lots of wildlife, including the one coyote I saw. Perhaps that's why we have no rabbits. Lol!

I live in town but the green space and forest behind my house makes it feel like living in the country. Yesterday we saw a wood chuck in our yard, first one I've seen here, and a bunch of rabbits chasing each other - it is spring!!

@PainsOnSlate I haven't seen a wood chuck in years. We do have rabbits and squirrels, and an occasional possum wander through the yard.

I understand why Zuzu will stand there to sure she is not left behind. So where they live since they have coyotes does she chase them? That must have been having them with you for the weekend. How often do you see Zuzu? She sounds like a good girl.

When the car is packed she gets in it and doesn't move, not even to say goodbuy to me... The coyotes seen to show up at night and she is inside at night, I don't know if she would chase them in the daytime but I'm guessing she would. Zuzu visits here at least 5 or 6 times a year, I usually visit here at her home at least once a year.

@Hannihar she is a love and she loves me but she certainly does not want to stay with me, While my daughter visits she will leave Zuzu with me but she is one happy pup when momma comes home.

@PainsOnSlate I bet she is happy to see when you go visit or when she comes to visit. I don't blame her for getting inside when the car gets packed up. She wants to make sure they take her with them.

Aside from birds I've seen a lizard and a teeny toad or frog and one of the cats caught a mouse, stupid cats like to play with them but the never kill em I there were coyotes round here there wouldn't be any mice or rats.

I hope your grass comes up well. We have rabbits, racoons, and I saw a possum walking down the street some years ago in a different neighborhood. We don't have coyotes where I live in town, but I think I've heard them howl before on the outskirts of town where the ritzy people are making more neighborhoods. We also have plenty of deer from time to time, and of course, squirrels and chipmunks. I've had several rabbits living under my ramp to my porch in the past, but for whatever reason they don't seem to eat my flowers which I'm happy about.

We haven't had any problem with our gardens either, the squirrels try to get our bird seed but can't because all of our feeders are squirrel proof. But we only feed the birds in the winter, our feeders are down now.
