Yepperz, sometimes ya jest gotta. I hear way too oft "Why bother? They'll not listen." from folks who've either a fear 'r a flat out don't wanna attitude. Such's got to stop. There's many important issues out there that need folks 'ttention. Those that know me well 've already figured I've a great passion fer wild horses, burros 'n the environment. The one't hand that's weighed most heavy'n my heart 'n mind fer many months 'd be the latest BLM proposal fer their 2018 fiscal year. If ya care to take a gander, be sure'n remove sharp objects from yer area. Coz if'n 't don't make yer blood boil 'n yer heart sink ya might wanna check yer pulse. They're proposin' to send the wild horses/burros that're not only'n captivity due to their senseless, cruel round'ps, but also those'n holdin' facilities 'cross the country to slaughter. Say such'll free'p $10 million taxpayer dollars. Ya know, budget cuts?? What they propose to do with those then 'free funds' 's to open our public lands to oil, mineral 'n natural gas development. Which'll create jobs 'n make's more energy sufficient. That's the crap their slingin' anyhow. Actually, they're gonna kill off our American Icons, the descendants 'f the very horses that made this country. If'n not fer the horse, how would mankind 've gotten 'round? How'd they won the battles that've been fought prior to tanks 'n artillery? Speakin' 'f artillery, tell me yet 'gain who pulled those canons from place to place? Hauled the supplies fer said armies? Took 'em 'nto battle 'n fought 'longside? Don't gimme started'n the fact that the horse/mule/donkey/burro were instrumental'n buildin' our railways, haulin' goods/folks from one part'f the country to the next... Scientist say they aint 'native'. Hullo?? Us Americans aint 'native' either 'n 've done more to destroy these lands'n the horses e'er could. So, I'm askin' that folks take a stand. Call yer elected officials 'n tell 'em yer thoughts. 'tis easy - go to govtrack.us 'n plug'n yer state. The website'll direct ya to the folks ya need to speak with. If'n ya aint from the United States, contact the White House anyhow. Send 'em'n email - costs nothin' but'cher time. It aint jest 'bout the wild horses/burros I hold so dear. 'tis bigger'n that. Strip minin' 'n oil exploration means water - lots 'n lots 'f water. Which'll be contaminated 'n spilled 'cross the lands. Think 'bout the long-term effects, the global effects. Do what's'n yer heart 'n make those calls, send those emails. If we unite, get our voices out there, there might be hope fer the future 'f the world 'fterall. Put the word out'n yer social media accounts. Use the hashtag #ImInTheBand to show yer support fer these horses. Let's not allow more tragedies by our elected officials. Jobs mean nothin' if'n there's no longer potable water. More oil/natural gas/gold, etc means nothin' if'n the lands 're turned 'nto wasteland, our waters polluted 'n our critters/all vegetation 'tis been poisoned 'long with the air.
