I am not sure what I am having for dinner this evening but I am craving something spicy. I love spicy food. My fiance not so much so we don't usually have anything too spicy. I always have to add hot sauce or hot peppers to things later to spice it up. My favorite kind of hot food is Thai because of love that sweet and hot combination. It is so good. I not sure what I will cook up but it gonna have some heat. So do you like spicy food or prefer mild?

I like spicy and hot food. I agree with you about Thai food, I love hot and sweet things combined. I like things with strong or unusual flavours.

@Happy2BeMe It can be bland, yes. I like lots of different foods, though. Some people seem to find it strange that I eat salads because I actually enjoy them! I like my food to be colourful too!

I come from province Hu nan,China where people are all loving spicy food, such as pot, peppers and so on. However, for me, I don't like spicy food because spicy food is not always good for our health. For example, it will cause bad breath. then, spicy food is easy to make us feel hot. So, I prefer mild ones.

Spicy food can be attractive at the first taste but over time, I loose my taste and appetite to eat. I prefer mild and well cooked food which can leave a lasting memory in me for a long time.

I do medium spicy. I love my herbs and seasonings. I had salsa on my eggs with portobellos, fried in garlic butter this morning. Hubby likes it even hotter.

Spicy is not for me. There are people who are in my relation and in my friend circle, who can eat very spicy and even foods with a lot of chillies in them. But not for me. In fact there is an incident in my life which I would love to tell. In my first job, I had to travel to different cities. Once I was in a North Indian city of Amritsar. While working at a client office, it got late. One of the client's contact person, who was their technical expert asked me to stay at his place, where his mother and sister were also staying. I was a bit hesitant initially but then agreed when things looked ok. There they gave me a dinner which was full of red chillies and spicies. Inside me, I was feeling very miserable. Yet somehow, as I was among not so known people, it was embarassing to ask for too much water, which I needed. I did drink some water. So, I somehow gathered my inner energy and faced the situation, even though I felt that the hosts had sensed my discomfiture. From that time, I now make sure that I foretell that I do not like very spicy food, and also I do not hesitate to drink more water. But that experience also told me that at times we have to be ready for situations where we have to adjust for adversity and still not show our emotions.
