Look! I admit it, okay?

My idea of directions is this: "You know where Walgreens and cvs is over by that old barn that got converted into a cookie shop? Yeah? Well you go past that until you see that old bbq place where that old lady crashed her car into. Turn right there and go until you see that house where that dentist used to live. Yeah the one who is in prison for murdering his wife and kids. " turn on the road right by that house and go until you see that old shop where them boys make things out of steel... They'll be able to tell you how to get to walmart from there." I also have no idea how to make a long story short. I mean, I CAN make it short. I just usually don't. I also get sidetracked in what I am saying. Example: "Oh I was watching the news earlier and heard that someone ran their car into that old BBQ place we used to go to... Speaking of which, I think there's a coupon for that BBQ place up by us and I could really go for some BBQ, but anyway I think the weather is supposed to be good for the next few days." So yes, I admit it.. My mind wanders sometimes, and sometimes it takes a lot for me to get it back. **All events within are true. Someone really DID run into a BBQ place with their car (maybe the same one who ran into a hair cutting place with her car) and a dentist really DID go to jail, but I can't remember exactly who he murdered. There really IS a barn where you can get cookies too, atleast I think it's cookies.. I've never been. What was I saying?

I like to think that my "off topic" is just me getting excited about a different subject and NEEDING to tell that person right then. In reality, it's more that whatever I was saying reminded me f something else I meant to tell them earlier.

So once I was told to go down this road and turn at the green house on that dirt road. I never found it, commented that it probably got painted pink. Sure enough, turned at the pink house and it was green on the side we did not approach. I KNOW about those directions and stories.

Some directions only make sense to the locals. They weren't exactly wrong, but they weren't thinking about how a tourist might approach (come into) the area. Atleast you got to where you are going! We have a set of greenhouses that are oval type buildings, made out of plastic. They are murky in color from years of them being set up. Consequentially, they lay right beside a turn off that is a shortcut to the road that my neighborhood turns off of. I've used those greenhouses as markers as well. "slow down and get into the left turn lane when you see those greenhouses. The road you turn on is the next left after those."

@celticeagle Moravian Cookies? I linked my cities baking company. They (the cookies) originated from the Moravian Church. Salem is where the majority of the local Moravians settled in our area. My city is "Winston - Salem", We merged with Salem years and years ago now, but the original village still remains as a museum for anyone interested.
Salem Baking Company's gourmet products are baked with the finest ingredients from around the world.

haha thank you! I appreciate that. I may not have been telling stories all my life, but I've been listening to them, and that certainly helps.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Write them down like you did here. Written memories are about as good as oral plus written will be here for the next generation.

@sallypup I actually already have. I've been doing that off and on for awhile now. I just posted a story that was told to me as a child. I also use a site called reddit to write. Of course I take a bit of creative license with memories and reality. Here I am more raw and honest.
