The day is ticking away

Ever since I got up this morning, I've had a little twitch in my right eyelid. A pulsating little tic. A half-blink. Drives me crazy. A box full of nails fell on the floor. There arose such a clatter! There is nothing more annoying than picking up thousands (okay, dozens) of nails off the floor. Tic...tic... I started to knit something with a skein of yarn I got out of an old stash. It wasn't for quite some time that I realized that part of the skein looked like it had been dipped into bleach and was all discolored. I had to rip out all my stitches. Tic...tic... The Boy installed the AC in my bedroom window. Unfortunately, some time between last summer and today, that old AC stopped working. No cooling. None. Tic...tic... And the local news has emailed to say that we're going to have a heat wave. "At Last!" they cry. What kind of idiot gets all happy when they predict it's going to be record heat and desperately uncomfortable? Don't they know my AC doesn't work? Tic...tic... And the day ticks away.

Shrimp don't need treadmills but can run on them, apparently.

@Rollo1 Taxpayers' dollars aside, my preferred treadmill piece has to be by OK Go:
Music video by OK Go performing Here It Goes Again (The Treadmill Video).

@pgntwo Such an unusual skill. Just watching them makes me feel dizzy and unsteady on my feet. Of course, I was already that way.

Wanna borrow Ally? She'd love to play with the water from your hose and then shake herself dry so close to you that it's actually cooling. It's gonna be about 100 this afternoon so I'll be out watering the pup and then I'll get watered too

I think a good sprinkling will be in order this weekend. Keep yourself and Ally cool!

Not the best day for you. They announced a heat wave that has to start yesterday. Thanks God (at least for the moment) they are wrong.

We almost had a severe thunderstorm yesterday, and so far today, the heat wave is less hot than they said, so I hope they continue to be wrong about these worrisome predictions.

@Rollo1 I hope too, today has been good so far, I hope that we are not going to have the anticipated heat wave the next week.

I get those eye twitches and they last for days sometimes. But I have never described it so beautifully.

Oh, thank goodness it didn't last for days. That would cause a secondary symptom - unbridled rage.

It finally went away, but I don't like to think about it in case the stress causes it to return. Such an annoying thing is a twitching eyelid.

@Rollo1 Yes it is an aggravation.

You have not had enough rest and plenty of extra stress, no wonder you have a tic. I do prefer that to a tick, though.

I have to agree, I would rather a tic than a tick.

Now I'm not really sure whether you did have the twitch in your eye or not, but if so, they can be awful that's for sure. Any tics I now get move around I get them on my leg, arm or cheek along with my eye. We've never had air conditioning in any house we've owned and it's been hot this past week. Today seems a lot cooler, but I can't tell how much because the sun is currently on the thermometer outside and it's reading 90, but I have a sweater on, so I know it's probably closer to 65-70ish. If those tics last too long, hold your breath and count to 100, lol. Not for the one on your face though.

Like most days - some parts are good, others are less so. My eye is still twitching, though.
