Dishes And Quiz Shows... / myLot

Yes, most nights I will stand washing dishes and in the background the tv is keeping me company and it just happens to be the time they show the quiz shows. So there I am up to the elbows in suds, trying to answer some of the strangest questions, and every now and then I will give a little, "oh yeah! I got that!" Or "Oh yeah, I knew that!". There are of course times that I will think, "ooh, who knew that?" And it is no use thinking I will remember all the new information I get from these shows, because lately my brain is a sieve. But I tell you, it takes the mundane out of doing dishes! What do you have on in the background while you do chores to help with the mundaneness of some of them?

Sometimes I have my nephew keeping me company. When he is not here then i listen to songs

@bluesa At times my nephew gets bored and then he just goes away lol. Then I put on the music and dance while doing the dishes.

Is it appropriate to sneak up on a lady when she is up to her elbows in suds?

Too late, I've just done it. Well I did promise to sneak one in. If you pardon the expression.

I have a dishwasher, so I can't enjoy that special moment that you do, but I do have a radio on whenever in the house. I love music and find it very stress relieving whatever the situation. I should have got a job in the music business. Thats one regret of mine.

@bluesa I'm in stealth mode tonight. A quick in and out.

I have an eclectic taste. I go back to the Beatles and beyond right up to Ed Sheeran and Adele. Rock through to ballads, with a bit of country thrown in. Mostly British and American. Couldn't name one band from SA though? You do make music there surely?

My husband insists on doing the dishes for me by loading them into the dishwasher and hand washing pots. We usually have the TV going and listen to news. Otherwise, it's music.

hahaha! we are the same my friend. while i prepare the dogs' food, my neck is hyper-extended to watch our favorite TV show, and when it is suspense, i immediately run to the living room and watch the show.

If I'm doing regular housework I tend to put on music (rock n roll) to get me moving. Otherwise the tv is on while I do other things and I do like quiz shows

@Marilynda1225 , thank you for bringing my attention to "quiz" and not "quizz" . You see, my brain = sieve lately even when it comes to how to spell a word correctly! I fixed it as quick as possible

. Would that be Elvis or Cliff Richard, or? Music is great for chores.

I like having a sitcom on while I do chores. I can follow it without too much attention so I can get my tasks done. Though sometimes I like everything off and just silence while I do my chores. I like my own thoughts, sometimes.

@paigea , yes, a sitcom in the background could also be great to have a chuckle to. I don't do well with working in silence. But it's good you are able to do so.
