Competition between gender

A complicated competition is the one between genders, as the different point of views, many of them valid, keep people split. Which are those competitions with no winner or just one valid answer? a) Who drives better? When I went to school to get my driving licence already many years ago, I remember that my teacher told me that women get easily confused with the blinker (when they want to turn right, they use the left one and the same for the other side). Was it only maleness or was he right? Some years ago, I watched a documentary on TV based on a study done by some professionals. Their result was: women drive best because they go slowlier and not so aggressive than men, but, on the other side, men are better when it comes to parking the car. The answer to that is easy: to park the car it's necessary to calculate well the distance. It seems like the logical thinking is easier for the male gender. Do you agree with this theory? b) Who cooks better? During the past generations, women were taught cooking since they were young girls to get prepared for marriage. But, nowadays, when you go to a restaurant, most professional cookers are men. Also, the most ones getting Michelin stars are males. Is it because they cook better or because there are more men than women participating in the competitions? Beside of that, many persons agree with the saying: "Nobody cooks better than y mum!". Someone knows more about gender competitions?

I agree about parking the cars. Men are better cooks because they cook for "passion". Most women start to cook in young age to help their Moms. One of the best cook anyway is a Swiss woman.

@Meramar This Swiss woman Chef started when she was very young for passion only. I think that the problem of many women is the fact that they are obliged to cook. I love to cook, I would spend my day in the kitchen.

So, in this case, the Swiss woman you mentioned surely cooks for passion too. If you cook because you have no other choice, you may not put the love in you need to cook well.

I guess there are lots of these really but there are always exceptions that prove the rule isn't there?

Exactly, those ones are more like a pastime.

As far as driving goes men tend to take too many risks ,whereas ladies are careful. Professional cooks are mostly men because they take it up as a profession unlike ladies who in majority of the households are expected to cook for their family .

That makes a great difference! This profession is usually based on vocation.

it is very much about individuals nowadays - the days when women did all the cooking and men were holding women drivers in contempt are over though many still sadly clng to such outmoded thinking

@Meramar the outmoded views are steadily being squeezed out - we are bonding as never before which is very refreshing

Actually, the two generations (the outmoded thinking and the modern ones) are still living together and there is a big contrast. But, times continue changing so even this kind of competition will find an end. Each person, man or woman, has got his or her own qualities and all together we may grow as a rich and unified society.

Women are better than men at everything. They are the better half. We have women power which makes us better.

That remembers me a picture I saw once online. On it, there was a woman walking with her daughter holding her hand, the camera just took their backside, not the front. Under the image, a short text. Her daughter asked: "Mum, what means 'to give up'?" And her mother responded: "I don't know, we are women!" So just believe in your strength.
