~Last Year It Was Amazing~

Last year on this day it was amazing. I set up a date night for my husband and I. Some of you may actually remember me telling you about it. We did word searches, played cards, I made brownies for a snack, and then after all of that we went outside and watched fireworks that were going off right across the street from us! It was the perfect ending to a perfect date. =)
This year was quite different since my husband has been working all day. I made it the best I could for my kids though by having a dance party and watching fireworks out of the window! They had a good day and that is what mattered to me the most.
Now, we are all getting ready to go to bed. I'm watching Saving Hope while Mylotting. Once this episode is over it's bed for me.

@LadyDuck It's okay, most holidays don't work out the way we want them to. We just got lucky last year. Yes the kids and I had a blast! =)

My kids spend their entire summer down in West Palm Beach visiting their grandparents, so usually on the 4th of July I always go down and visit them and we watch fireworks together down in south Florida. But this year, the way the holiday fell on a Tuesday, and my busy work schedule, I wasn't able to go down to spend the 4th with them, so it was a very low-key holiday for me here in Gainesville this year. I just hung out with a couple of friends at a local craft brewery, and then came home and relaxed. I'll be heading down to see my kiddos in 2 more weekends.

@moffittjc I'm sorry you couldn't spend it with your children. =( Falling on a Tuesday kind of stunk for everyone I think with work schedules. I hope you enjoy seeing them when you go! =)

Sorry this year was different. But you tried to have a good time. And you made it so the kids did and thsts what matters. You are the second person to mention that show today.. might have to check it out.
Very different than last year for me too. But maybe one day I'll have my own kid ti have a good holiday with and noone csn ruin my plans. *wishful thinking

Our evening was good was glad when the fireworks we're over and we could get back home because I went to bed and slept so good.
