Dutch Iris in the Pyrenees?

The photo might look quite ordinary but I didn’t want to crop it too much. Hopefully if you look carefully you’ll see a large number of blue flowers. These look like what I know as Dutch iris and were growing wild through much of the Pyrenees that we traversed a day or two ago. Photos of the wildflowers can be disappointing as they can look a bit sparse in an image. I still find myself unable to resist snapping them.

That's a very good question, and as @TheHorse grows sunflowers, he might have the answer for you. I don't see any in your picture, but I do see the blue Dutch Iris.

You're on vacation @JudyEv we forgive you, it's really nice of you to share your trip with us and of course you are in a hurry to take advantage of internet hookups if you get them.

@just4him @Corbin5 @Gillygirl @JohnRoberts @rebelann. Sorry folks. I put two posts into one so I've deleted the bit about the sunflowers so I can put a photo with it. I seem to be making a lot of mistakes lately.

Wildflowers dotting the meadow are always attractive.

They don't show up very well in the photo which is a shame but you can see they are there.

Mine are blooming at the moment in my flower pots - strange but true as we have had some warm days of late

These in the Pyrenees were very similar but obviously aren't the same thing.

How lovely! I love it when you come across 'garden' flowers in their original habitat. I still remember the surprise of seeing tulips growing everywhere in Turkey!

@JudyEv Yes, all around that area. I guess I just never thought before of where they actually originate.

Tulips in Turkey? That would have surprised me too! Are they native to that region?

There were a lot of hikers but it's pretty hilly. I'd last a mile or two and that would be it I think.
