I took Leah in for another recheck on her bionic knees. Leah is fear aggressive. I love Leah to pieces. She is an eighty pound growler when other dogs are around. So there we were in a small Vet lobby, Leah nervously emitting fear messages. A light bulb went off in my brain: instead of telling Leah to be quiet, I could instead tell her to heel! So around and around we went, Leah on my left side, glued into the heel position. She was too busy heeling to be worried and loudly growling at the other dog. The other dog's owner could then deal with stuff at the counter while Leah and I strolled the outer lobby. Every so often I stepped up the action, having Leah back or sit. Who cares what we looked like. No more aggressive grumps and all to the good! To top it all off, Leah's doc pronounced her good to go on no more being leashed all the time. She can run free and us humans will hope for the best. Go bionic knees!

@AbbyGreenhill The other dog was more than a medium sized pooch. Sure did not need a mix up.

@TiarasOceanView I figured it would be best to try to calm the situation down.

Woooowhoooo, now all we need is a tv show about the bionic dog .... ok ok, so she's only got bionic knees, that's a start, right?

I'm glad the bionic knees are doing the job. I understand Leah's nervousness. I get nervous when I have to see the doc too.

@BettyB You and me, too on doc visits! I look around at the drawers in the doc's office and wonder what manner of torture lies in it?
