~Reminds Me~

The cold hard tiles pressing firmly on my soft skin reminds me of the reality we are in. People's broken promises reminds me of this cruel world we dwell in.
The drops of cold water falling through to where we lay reminds me that better days are ahead.
The true friends that have stepped up to lend a hand reminds me life is not all bad.
Having substance to fill our stomachs reminds me we have been through much worse.
The faith we have keeps us going and reminds us that better days are ahead.
My husbands tears brings heart break to my mind. Each tear that falls reminds me he's not the super hero we imagine him to be at times. He needs the reminder that better days are ahead.
Our children's laughter through this reminds me that they still enjoy life.
The world through their eye's keeps me hoping and gives me more faith.
I am reminded once again that better days are ahead...
(Just Some Thoughts On This Rainy Sunday)

Your post certainly touched my heart. I've been through some pretty tough times myself so yes, better days are ahead. Keep the faith and don't give up

I do admire you two! I remember not that many years ago that this landlady was also homeless and I own rental houses! So I know how you feel being at the mercy of the world, Faith in god got me through and for the better I will say.
Accept change and move in.

@Tiarasoceanview As I think you know we have also had way more bad times than good BUT our reward isn't here on Earth and I try to remember that. =)

Yes better days are ahead. And, that poem is wonderfully written. You have a great way with words :) One question I have meant to ask, during this move and having to stay in the motel and now apartment, did you get to bring your dogs along or are they staying with friends or family until you get situated in your home when it is ready?

@Leapea2417 Thank you =) We found a home for one of our dogs, Jules. She isn't very good with young children or other dogs. She went to a wonderful home. =)
Our other dog, Girl who we've had for 8 years is with us, thank God!! She's my baby.

@nanette64 We have lived in a tent before and it was much worse. The kids are still playing, laughing and fighting-they are doing okay.

Very nice. I do feel sorry for you and your husband as you are the adults and you both keep feeling like you did not do enough. It is funny, my kids do not remember the times that were very hard for us, or remember them as fun. They are older than you are. You and Johnny are going to reach down deep inside of you and find the strength to get through this and anything else. Your kids are loved beyond measure and they will know it, too.

@Gardengerty Thank you. As you probably know from your own hard times, it feels as though the only one to blame is yourself.
I hope our children never remember the tough times we have gone through. We are pushing through the best we can. =)
