Not physically -- but for the next 11 days my eyes will be glued to my television set for at least four hours every day watching my favorite sport - athletics. What international event - sporting or otherwise do you look forward to with great anticipation - annually or every two or four years? One of my favorites is definitely the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) championships which opened in London yesterday. This is its 16th staging and it ends on August 13. I may not be an athletic person, but I love the sport - especially the sprint events and long distance running. So what is your favorite event - sporting or otherwise?

@Kandae11 Yes, and sometimes the finish is very close. I also like the strategy they use to jockey for position throughout the race

You did? Great. Unfortunately the race didn't end the way his fans would have liked but at least he ended with a bronze medal.

@valmnz You are right. - those two who won gold and silver were completely ignored. He is really loved all over the world.

I have also been following this! I love watching athletics, these super fit people amaze me. I am sad Usain Bolt is retiring, he won bronze and is such a wonderful guy. He has achieved so much. We have won some medals over these last few days too. :)

@Kandae11 , the Australians have? I am a South African, so have been focusing on our athletes, just saw Wayde Van Niekerk get his Gold medal for the 400m he won last night. ;)

@bluesa Oops! My mistake - I was watching something about the Australians when I typed that. Of course you are South African and Van Niekerk is a great athlete indeed.

I don't watch TV that much. That is a lovely picture. I hope you enjoy it even if it is on TV instead of being there physically.

To be honest - I don't like crowds - so my large TV is perfect for this. I only watch the big international games - like this one, the Olympics and the Football World Cup.

We don't really watch any sports but I guess tennis would be one that I might watch occasionally. Even that would depend a bit on who was playing.
