Sears

I was really surprised on Saturday went to use my points at Sears and when checking out the supervisor told the checker to make sure she has the customer use their points. Each checker has to have a certain number of people use their points each hour. In my case, I had 15.00 on there, so certainly used them. The checker was as happy as me.
I really felt for the other checker, as he couldn't get the customer to use their points. Can somebody tell me why you wouldn't use your points, as they do expire? I can't come up with any reason I would wait to use my points.

I agree, as stores are closing, so people should use them quickly. You know its bad when Las Vegas closes the store. I'll miss the stores.

we also have stores that have loyalty points here, and the cashiers always ask for your card so they can swipe it.

We have several grocery stores that offer discounts and some free items like Ralph's came home with 3 free items yesterday.

Yes, there are surprise points and points for making a purchase. I always want to lower my bill, so really surprised when others don't use the points. Also you can win points and they are short dated. I get more free items at Sears and K-mart, then any other store.

On another group somebody thinks the Sears might close here and if they are right the points will just expire unless somebody is willing to travel or shop online.

I've only shopped online and it was Kmart that I'd intended to shop when the shirts I bought ended up coming from Sears @Fishmomma

I don't know and am hoping somebody that works at Sears can answer the question. I sure was happy to save money, so maybe the thinking is happy shopper means will be back into the store soon. The Sears Stores are in trouble, as people are shopping less in the stores.

Maybe some people save the points for Christmas shopping or for a specific large purchase.

I can understand wanting to use points for a large purchase and would do the same. The problem is the surprise points expire in 2 weeks. The purchase points are long dated, so saving them would be good for a large purchase.

@JohnRoberts I agree and there was a $10 off, so couldn't understand why the man didn't want a lower bill.

@Fishmomma If there is a quick expiration date then you must spend them as soon as possible.

I think its good, as I wouldn't want to lose $10 or more. The store was nice to offer $10 for everyone that used their card. Also I had points that I won and coupons loaded to my card.

@Fishmomma Many customers are probably not even aware of what they have on their cards, so it's only right for the checkers to remind them of what they have...

Oh another company that does that?
My poor nephew worked at Target and they hassled him right of his cashier job with having to make customers use points and things.

I think its hard on the cashiers, as not everyone wants a card; specially, if they are visiting an area and their state doesn't have a store now or the store is a long distance from their home.

Sears is a store with many different non-food items. They aren't located in every state. Some of the things they sell luggage, sheets, towel, clothes, tools, and storage sheds.
