No Swimming for Me

Today we were to go swimming. My student to swim with was at home with a fever. He began coughing late in the day yesterday. I had a good day anyway. But I have had a sore throat. I actually may go to bed early because of it. Wish me luck.

Ah, then it was probably good that you did not go swimming today either. Get some good sleep and hope that sore throat disappears!!

@much2say I need to cut my fresh pineapple. I have consumed a lot of beverages today. Thyme tea, water with lemon, orange juice, along with the coffee for the day too.I think a gargle with salt water is in order.

@GardenGerty We drink water with a zip of organic apple cider vinegar in it when we have a sore throat. My son had a sore throat the other day and drank honey/water all day . . . he claims the sore throat was gone by the end of the day.

I think it often starts with pollen and such with the season changing.

Uh-oh. If you get sick a lot of things will start to break down. You keep everything going.

Last year I had cold symptoms for six weeks straight, then started drinking tea made of thyme leaves. It is morning now. I had forgotten that thyme tea is so helpful, so after my first cup of coffee that is what I will drink.

@just4him Now I am just stuffy. Dratted cold. Not near so bad as what you were going through, though.

I may have the same thing the student has. That is how it usually goes. I think the relaxing change of scenery is good medicine, though.

You are having the weather I am having here in Kansas. We are far away from any coasts so no hurricane activity. I had to water all of my plants outdoors last night as we have not had rain in a while. The dryness and the dust and pollen make us feel bad.

@trayonthomas I did not learn to swim until I was a student in college. We were required to take a phys. ed. class every semester. I chose to take swimming. I am an okay swimmer. I really enjoy the water. You could possibly contact a YMCA or the American Red Cross to learn about adult lessons.
