This was just posted a short while ago on U2's facebook page.
I had no plans to go to it, but I imagine there are several disappointed/angry people right now...
I saw someone trying to sell a pair of tickets a few days ago for $100, glad I didn't buy them...

Live Nation and U2 regrettably announce their St. Louis show scheduled for tonight, September 16, 2017 has been cancelled. "We have been informed by the St. Louis Police Department that they are...

I guess St Louis is having problems at the moment and police that would have normally been used for the concert are being assigned to the streets

@JolietJake Thank you. I understand that this is a serious problem and it was better to cancel than to take risks.

There have been some problems with demonstrations and stuff in St Louis lately and the police were reassigned to patrol the streets, therefore they wouldn't have adequate security at the show

I have a friend in St. Louis who was disappointed about this. She says the city streets are turning into a war zone.

I'm heading that way for a concert later this month, but it is in Maryland Heights instead of St Louis proper.
I have a few facebook friends that have said things are really getting heated up over there.

Wow, that's disappointing for the people who were planning to go. I hope everyone can get refunds.

Did Bono forget this hat? I think he catered a plane once to pick his hat up for him. Maybe he lost it again?

Naw, there has been a lot of demonstrating/civil unrest there recently so police are being assigned to the street and won't be available for security at the show

It is good that they are security conscious.

Two tickets for $100 seems like a lot but I think here they are even more expensive and so I listen to the songs that I like on YouTube. I can control the sound and I'm not smoking.

If it is an indoor venue it is no smoking...but that doesn't stop most people.
The $100 was for two 'nosebleed' seats, front row tickets were likely several hundred dollars each.

Yeah, It really gets frustrating when that happens. I'm hoping U2 will perform in India some time in the near future.

They are doing the full album 'The Joshua Tree' on this tour, that would have been good to go to

Yeah, there's been some stuff going on in St Louis lately.

That certainly can be annoying. Getting al excited about a concert only to have it canceld.
