Trying to enjoy the last official day of Summer

...because Autumn starts tomorrow and don't forget to set your calendars back 6 years or something like that. I've been noticing it stays dark later each day,...which, of course, the gubmint won't allow it to stay that way, in the USA we have to set our clocks back (in most locations) one hour on November 5th. And I seriously wish they'd just leave the clocks alone. There is a part of the USA that never changes their clocks, and they have yet to be swallowed up by some catastrophic incident or been punished by God for it. But I digress... I started this out talking about seasons, not time. My favorite season is deer season. But let's bid goodbye to Summer (in the Northern hemisphere anyway) and get ready for pumpkin-spiced everything because it isn't far away now. Bye Felicia...

Do you believe that Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands were punished because they do not change their clocks? What about Arizona? I think they do not change either, well also Guam, but they have a serious problem, even if different from hurricanes right now.

Saskatchewan doesn't go for it, either. They don't want to confuse the cows.

Yes, leave your hands off my clock. My body has trouble anyway. I wish the fall temperatures would get here and stay a while.

Now that Daylight Savings starts a whole month earlier and ends a whole month later than it used to, it's such an abrupt change when it ends... it doesn't gradually get darker, it's suddenly DARK much earlier at night. It's harder for me to make that adjustment now.

We're into Spring now so it's wet and cold! The government wants summer to last as long as possible down here in NZ, so we put our clocks back this weekend 23 September and they will stay that way until sometime in April. Used to be they went back in March - but apparently this makes the warm weather stay longer! I think they felt that if they could convince people that we had long summers, they'd be happier.

Yes, farewell to summer, but our forecast says we'll hold on to the humidity and heat until next week at least. I don't mind the time change, although you stated you do. I just go with the flow, and its always been as long as I've been, so I just accept it. As for the pumpkin spiced everything.......that season began here in Canada around Labour Day.

I love fall, but unfortunately I live in California where it stays uncomfortably warm most the year with two to three months of cooler weather before it starts heating up again. This week temps have been cooling down...but next week, the first week of fall, it's supposed to be in the 90s again. Ugh. I'm ready for summer to be over. Also, I wish they'd do away with Daylight's Saving Time. All it does is annoy people and disrupt their schedules.

we do the old clock thing here too. It is very annoying and often I don't notice it has happened and wake up too late or early or miss a bus or something like that. I love Halloween, so I'm happy to carve a pumpkin. Hate the taste though.

Autumn starts tomorrow? But the stores have had Halloween and Thanksgiving stuff on their shelves since a month ago ! I agree - they need to leave the clocks alone - although I will say I like the autumn change rather than the spring change .

6 hours? we in Canada set our clocks back for fall and forward for spring. as the saying goes spring forward and fall back. Just changes when we have the most daylight in the summer it's nice to have longer nights with daylight over getting dark really quick
