Painting The Kitchen Cabinets

Right now, even as we speak, my husband is painting our kitchen cabinets. With our daughter and her family coming over for a few days at the end of the week, he wanted the kitchen to look brighter.
We seem to have a bit of a problem getting sunlight into our kitchen. We decided to help it look airier and bright we would painted the cabinets snow white semi-gloss.
I know I will love it, I have wanted white cabinets in this kitchen for a while.
I will be cheering him on and relaxing today.
What are your plans for today?

Hope you have a nice day relaxing Susan. I need to do something here with my cabinets but of course it is rented apt and we cannot do so much ..I think I would love them to be lighter too..it would bring some light into the small space.

Sounds like a great way to spruce up the kitchen and make it brighter. Plus the semi-gloss makes for easy cleaning. Today is my oldest daughters birthday so I'll be going there tonight for dinner and cake

Today I went to the pool first thing, took a nap, did laundry, and went to the bank. That's enough for one day. Painting always brightens up the mood and the room. I'm sure it will turn out very nice and make it look brighter in the kitchen.

Today is Friday and my chores days and washing things. I will do my lot and rest while watching TV to get better and better each day with my lower back and left side bothering me. That is a great idea and hope it turns out brighter in the end.

Today I have meetings after meetings. I was away for business last week I wasn't able to go to the office and meet my people. So today, Monday, I will be busy the whole afternoon in the office.

@fishtiger58 I like cooking a large piece of meat, the leftovers are so good later. I will be cooking a couple of turkeys this winter too.

@HazySue It was really good. I am going to find a nice turkey soon and cook that up. I love turkey so as soon as the weather gets cooler I cook at least 6 of them through out the cooler months.

That sounds like a nice compromise in keeping the room lighter.
My favorite cupboards were the ones that we had installed in our big home that we lived in, they were maple, not too dark and not too light.
The cabinetry in this house is rather dark, but I can live with it.
