Treat Your Dog for Halloween?

Hi! I'm not a dog owner. I'm not really an animal person. But I know a lot of people love their dogs. Halloween will come and all the kids will get treats and some folks might want to give their dog a treat.
If so, did you know that you put a spoonful of canned pumpkin in dry dog food?
You can also put a scoop of baked sweet potato in their bowl.
Both treats are pet-safe and if your dog likes it, you can do it again for Thanksgiving!

I have a dog ,but never have fed her on dry dog food.Additionally Halloween hasn't be here to stay.

@cmoneyspinner Yes, we have a lot of festivals all year around.Actually I don't know much about Halloween,apart from "pumpkin lantern".

@changjiangzhibin89 - I just recently learned about the Mooncake Festival. My son brought home some mooncakes. I was going to eat all of them but I had to share.

You're old school like me. When I was a kid we fed our dog the scraps from our table. If the scraps happen to have to sweet potato they got lucky!

Animals can get "conditioned". They can sense when they will be rewarded with a treat though they may not know why. They'll be all the more loyal to you for it. Your neighbor's cat seems to have found a second home.

Pumpkin is so good for dogs, they are a good treat for them. I learned of this from a dog lover haha

@peachpurple - Yes really. According to the article I read. They didn't recommend the other foods but it did say that if you had a cat, the cat could also have some sweet potato.
