Scar was getting an eyeful of birds yesterday out by the tree...I was watching him from inside, and he was getting a fairly intense look on his face.
I shot a photo of him, and a few of the birds, then decided to zoom in for a better photo of the Cardinal.
And just as I went to snap it, Scar decided he couldn't take it any longer and all I got was a blur of red as it took wing when he pounced.
But I got more than Scar did.

@JolietJake No, the camera is fine, the grass is not blurred, but the bird surely moved very fast.

I thought last night I jerked the camera as I took it when he leaped, but the grass didn't blur

I'm glad that The Scar didn't get the cardinal.
They are my favorite birdie, they have such a sweet song and they are so comical to watch. We used to have one perch on the door of the car and he'd look at himself in the side-view mirror. And he'd peck at the mirror-cuz that birdie he saw was so pretty, and he'd do that for almost an hour. It was hilarious.

I get huge flocks of them during the winter, I got a photo last year with 21 in the same photo

Sounds like my dogs. Great form, but always comes up empty.

@JolietJake Even then it is looking nice. Taking such photos needs some steadiness, concentration and firm grip.

Scar was too slow at the draw! That's a fairly healthy looking cardinal, but too close for comfort!:)
