Part of the job

My husband receives boxes of things almost daily from UPS and FedEX as part of his job. 85% of the time he does not need the contents, the store does not want it, but he cannot get rid of it right away.
I constantly feel buried in cardboard.
I am thankful. When I got home last night he had hooked up the trailer and he took an entire load to recycling.
Thankful that he has a job, thankful he is a hard worker, thankful for recycle bins.
I guess I need to go to work now, as soon as I pack my lunch.

I would be in heaven with all that cardboard! I would use it to make tunnels, forts, etc. Yes, I'm a big kid. Give me a big box and I can play for hours!

I made a boat out of it once when I worked at Headstart. No we did not take it in the water, but yes, two or three kids could play in it at a time.

@moffittjc I used a refrigerator carton and duct tape. Lots of duct tape. My co workers went to lunch and came back to find a boat in the classroom. Fridays we had no students but just did prep work. I think they would have to paddle fast to get across before their cardboard got saturated.

@GardenGerty We host lifeguard games every year for our staff at work, in which they get to showcase all their rescue skills. But to mix in some fun during the games, one of the things we have them do is build and race cardboard boats across the pool All they get is cardboard and duct tape, and then the sky's the limit for how they create and race their boats. It's always fun to see the creations they come up with. It's even funnier to see them try to make their way across the pool without their cardboard boat sinking or falling apart!

Have you considered dropping the cardboard off at an art center or elementary school? I love using cardboard in my art classes with students

I work in an elementary school. I take other recyclables as they are called for. We do not have a place to store this quantity and for the most part teachers have to do their own art lessons. One of the local libraries is collecting toilet paper rolls for Christmas decor.

I microwaved a potato, topped it with my turmeric blend of seasoning. Then I added cheese and bacon to it.

You are probably having a great feeling of relief as you get your space to yourself and get to do your own things.

When I cannot walk through a room or sit on a sofa due to large boxes, it makes me angry. This is not how a house should look or function.

@GardenGerty Sometimes, I roam like a mad person searching for such boxes. You should plan how to keep or arrange them to enable you to have an easy walk-through.

Items for signage, and clips to hold the signs. Non perishable, as you say.

Oh, I am on the hunt for boxes. I would love some of those boxes. I am fortunate that the local Dollar General don't mind giving me boxes. Glad he got them out of your way.

I imagine I will still be able to do a lasagna garden. The boxes keep coming.

I'm always thankful for recycle bins too. I recycle whatever I can.
