MISSION IS OFF: ONLINE TUTORIAL: WHY?!?

These past few weeks, I was so busy finding online tutorial sites. I had been working for more than 3 years in my current online tutorial company. With such situation, I wanted to explore the other opportunities. I humbly say that I had passed all the requirements needed by these companies. But then, I need to decline the chances due to inhuman payment scheme. Thus, I finally decided not to abandon my current company. I had applied three (3) online tutorial sites. They are legit as claimed by the people who work with them. I cannot deny that the hiring process is impressive. It feels like you got a jackpot opportunity. Let me share the payment scheme of each company and why I didn't push through. Company 1: $0.19 for 25 minutes online unbooked classes Company 2: It pays $1.36 per regular classes but no payment for free trial classes. Company 3: $1.41 per online classes but the working payment for a month will be after 15 days Can you believe this? Do you think it is worth to work with them? Image Credit: pixabay.com

Those payment schemes are ridiculous. How do they think to find good teachers proposing such low payments?

That makes me feel so furious about it. These companies lack social responsibility. I pity those online teachers hooked by these companies.

@Shavkat I have had to work in some very badly paid places but never was the money as low as that. Shocking you are worth much more than that go for something better if you can.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I agree. It was so frustrating after going through their hiring process. Finally, I felt contented with my current company. Now, I am preparing to gain a certification of TESOL.

I am sorry to hear that. My daughter before teaches at RareJob during summer. She earns 150 pesos or $3 /hour. Is that cheap pay?

I am really surprised those companies have gotten anyone to accept such low payments for that type of work... But I also know there are people who want to work from home so badly that they will accept anything offered to them, too. SMH! Uhm... I frequently write or record tutorials explaining different aspects of smart phones and their service providers as well as tutorials concerning different aspects of computers and tablets without charging anything for my assistance. I do that all the time here on myLot. Several of my discussions are tutorials for one thing or another. (This is different, in my opinion. I offer these tutorials to people here on myLot, whether they are my friends or someone I have just met. I like to help people... A lot of them that I help here on myLot couldn't afford to pay anyone to help them with problems they encounter.) I am not sure I'd want your job. Tutorials can be really tedious work. (I do think it is great that you like writing or making tutorials, though. It is a job that needs to be done and should be done by a person who is detail oriented and focused in their work.)

@DaddyEvil I wish I can have such company. My friend and I were talking about and looking for a marketer in non-native speaker's country. Hopefully, it would be materialized. Don't worry, my friend. I will let you know if it happens. It would be fun.

@Shavkat It is good that your present company pays better than the others you've found, Shavkat. Wow! If you ever do start your own site and take on others, let me know. Pretty and I both do that type of work, too. Normally, we get our work through word of mouth of previous satisfied clients.

@Shavkat All I want to do is conversational English with people that want to improve their English. I have been rejected from all the places I applied to because I am not a teacher but my mother tongue is English. I wish I knew where to go to find the right people that would like to learn to improve English by conversation. You can learn a lot by conversation. The right conversation will help people. Thank you.

I am not a teacher by profession, my friend. If you want, I can share this mobile app, you can teach English to non-native speakers. You can download this from the store Palfish.

That does seem quite low, though I don't understand how it exactly works. Is it all for 25 minutes or are the other two for an hour. Either way, you would not be able to live on that kind of income.

I do agree that it is quite low in terms of income. There are some instances that it is possible to earn with low rate if a high volume of online students booked for the classes. In some way, it can compensate.

You said it right. These companies are taking advantage of the virtual teachers in our country. The sad part is that the admin Staff are Filipinos. How bad is that, right?
