I dont think Ive ever started a discussion regarding "my" pet dog Lily. So, she is my roommates dog but since I moved in last year, and work opposite hours as my roomies, she has become a little bit of my little buddy. She is adorable and loves to cuddle and go on walks! She is a small minpin mix (?) No one really knows since she is a rescue. They think she is about 5 years old.
She has super short hair naturally but lately her back serms to be balding a bit. Ok, a lot. More than we have ever seen. We bought some "skin and coat" snacks and food, and also started giving her a little bit of coconut oil in her tood which is supposed to help with hair growth among other things. Alas... no results.
Pet ownrrs out there, have you ever experienced this? What helped, if anything?

I hope you can send your dog to the Vet as soon as possible because maybe she must have eaten something allergic to her

@maezee Oh ok but maybe her health became weaker because Dogs gets weaker when they get older. I don“t know if you`re familiar with the dogs life? Dogs life are only little up to 13yrs old and in those middle there can be changes in their body functions and food must adjust too and vitamins must be increased to give them longer life

that's worrying. i guess it's time to take her to the vet if the things you've tried haven't worked. does she scratch it or nip at it? was there any change in her food? maybe this article will help?
Causes of canine hair loss can include genetic conditions, endocrine and hormonal disorders, and drug or vaccine reactions.

Salmon oil helps aa well.
It could be mites, fleaas, or just bad diet.

I can't help you unfortunately the only solution for you is to take the dog to the vet and they will tell you diagnosis.

I know that all dogs and cats shed--and some can shed exorbitantly--but losing hair like you describe doesn't sound normal. I hope nothing is wrong with the poor dog!
Happy Thanksgiving!

I really don't have any background about dogs and puppies, I think Cesar Milan can make some explanations.

I guess he is losing his hair because he has eaten something that causes a type of allergy that a dog would have if they have eaten foods that is not compatible with their body. This is just a wild guess though but just in case this would help you to remember something you have offered to your dog as food.

I think a veterinarian would be your best option
One thing I always consider is what wild canines would eat, their diets would be what our dogs should eat which is primarily meat. A dogs digestive system does not produce the enzymes needed to break down a lot of the veggies that people eat. Would your dog eat coconut if it were wild?

I know you wrote this back in November but did she get over the hair loss? I hope so.

It is really very sad to know that your dog is losing hair, but I don't know what is the solution for it.
