Elf on the shelf returns

My grand daughter's elf on the shelf, Pixie Dust, left my place last year and returned last nigh. She is hanging out in my grand daughter's bedroom. She will be excited when she sees here there today. We aren't going to tell her we are just going to wait and see how long it takes her to notice Pixie Dust. Does an Elf in the Shelf hang out at your house during the holiday season?

@Happy2BeMe I've seen them at Walmart but thought they were a little expensive. I know they're really popular though.

I think the name Pixie Dust is perfect! My grandchildren have their Elf on a Shelf but I don't have one at my house.

I live here with my 97 year old mother. Which is not to say an elf on the shelf is impossible, but it's unlikely, lol. I just wouldn't want either of us to keel over with surprise, haha.

I think that those are so cute. There's a girl that I work with that was telling me the elaborate letter that the elf left for her son. I told her not to blame her son for lying to her when he's a teenager. She was just carrying the whole thing a bit too far. I like the concept, its no different then when we were kids and our parents would tell us that they saw an elf peaking in the window-of course we never saw them did we?

No Elf on the Shelf here, as we have no little ones. It was not a tradition anyone did when I was growing up.

No I haven't fallen for this yet, I just looked it up; basically after the child has named the elf it then gains magical powers to spy on the child's activities and report them. I don't really like that idea!

that is not how it goes here. That may have been the intent but what the elf does it moves places and does mischevious things or hides so the child can find them. It is all in fun. It does not spy on the child and report them. This is the first time that I am hearing of that.
