The Byrds~~ Mr Tambourine Man~~1965

I was still in the single digits when this song came out. This would not be the type of music my parents listened to (I didn't have my own radio), so I would not have heard it until years later. It sounds as if all the hippies in the world came together and created a song for their generation (except The Who's song My Generation might actually work better) and this was the result. Plus, David Crosby was an original member. Do you like this song? https://pixabay.com/en/hippie-van-vw-camper-art-love-1203391/

Yes, I like it. I prefer the Byrds' version. Dylan's is tolerable. And Bill Shatner's....let's not go there.

@FourWalls I only got halfway, I had to go back and finish. Why is he so angry at the tambourine man? This makes me think the whole album was a joke. Could anyone have listened to it without laughing?

I had to look up William's rendition, and laughed the whole way through the song. Thank's for sharing that info. Did anyone tell him he's talking and not singing.

I was about 9 when this song came out. but when ever I hear the word "hippies" it is the song medley "Age of Aquarius" which comes to mind.
Beginning of the film "Hair!" "Aquarius" song clip

I always liked that song and still do. My mother would have only been 5 when this came out. I didn't hear of this song until my teens when I loved listening to the oldies radio station.
