Say that five times in a row! Did you manage to say it correctly five times? Tongue twisters can be long and complicated...she sells sea shells by the sea shore....or.....how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood. My children loved tongue twisters.... My all time favourite was the title of this post. It sounds so simple....but it's anything but. Do you have a favourite tongue twister?

I used to love tongue twisters when I was a child. Not sure that kids learn them today?

Finding a fun tongue twister to add to every comment is proving to be amusing. Here's one for you. Sounding by sound is a sound method of sounding sounds

That's a tough one, one I heard as a kid on the Rocky and Bullwinkle show was saying toy boat 5 times fast.

Here's another challenging tongue twister. Thirty-three thirsty, thundering thoroughbreds thumped Mr. Thurber on Thursday.

Oh, I have to admit this is a funny discussion! Those infamous tongue twisters yes, they are really something to get the tongue around! I remember one advert many years ago that related to butter and this is what the tongue twister is: "You can't put a bit of better butter on your knife!" . In reverse: "You can't put a better bit of butter on your knife!" I loved that advert and I will never forget it.

But do you have one that you remember from childhood...or even one you learned as an adult. How about...rubber baby buggy bumpers.

@Morleyhunt Those are two Italian ones "Trentatré Trentini entrarono a Trento, tutti e trentatré, trotterellando." "Pure Pelè partì parà per il Perù, però perì per il purè."

I have a Dutch one about fishermen....somehow translated it just isn't the same. Here's another fairly simple tongue twister that will confuse and tangle your tongue. Two tried and true tridents

@MALUSE this is the Dutch one. Vissende vissers die vissen naar vissen, maar vissende vissers die vangen vaak bot. De vis waar de vissende vissers naar vissen vindt vissende vissers vervelend en rot. Some where I also have the translation.

Every language has tongue twisters....comedians seem to get a lot of mileage out of them...children enjoy them. I think they can be lots of fun. Here's another one for you. If you notice this notice, you will notice that this notice is not worth noticing

Tongue twister were used in my public speaking class as a warm up (many years ago). They are a good exercise in engaging the brain and the mouth at the same time.

I find that to say unique New York several times in a row is almost impossible. It should be simple...but the tongue messes it up unless I really concentrate,
