2015 Spoiler alerts A comedy about the early adventures of William (Bill) Shakespeare as he struggles to find his true vocation, moving from lute player, to singing tomato and finally, to playwright. Along the way he is caught up in a Spanish plot to assassinate Queen Elizabeth 1st, struggles to stop his wife, Anne Hathaway, leaving him, and meets Christopher Marlowe. Some very funny gags, in a film from the cast of the BBC sketch show Horrible Histories, which most players taking on multiple roles. Unlike the TV sketches, the film gets intentionally irreverent with history, with the Spanish meeting customs officials in England, Philip 2nd Of Spain kissing the English soil only to get a mouthful of mud, and everyone wondering if there really was an Earl of Croydon. Family friendly silliness, and some great songs too. Arthur Chappell

@JudyEv yes, just as with their TV work - this is one of their sketches based on facts

If it’s funny I’d watch it. However that type of history movies is not really my genre

@JohnRoberts Horrible histories is a series of humourous children's history books, that became a TV series and a live stage show - the sketches are very funny but also educational. The film is made by the cast from the series but it isn't a Horrible History work in itself. The Youtube is from the Horrible Histories TV show - a rap performed by King Charles 2nd
Would the real Charles II please stand up! Watch this funny Horrible Histories parody song all about King of Bling, King Charles II. For more fun, play CBBC ...
