My son introduced me to this movie some years ago - and since then I have watched it several times . The 2005 historical drama stars a favorite actor of mine - Orlando Bloom - and it deals with the 12th century crusades for the kingdom of Jerusalem. I watched it again recently when recent developments reminded me that many centuries later the battle for Jerusalem continues. Have you watched this movie? There is one battle scene which is a bit gory , but I skipped that with my handy remote. Are you a fan of historical movies? What kind of movies do you prefer to watch?

@JohnRoberts When it was finished, I wanted to see more - a continuation. That is probably one of the reasons why I watched it so many times.

Give me a good action (spy) movie, I will be a very happy soul. Sometimes they make spy + comedy, then I just roll over the floor laughing...

I've wanted to see that one. I saw it for sale at Wal-Mart and read the back of it a couple years ago, but didn't buy it at that time, but always intended to. I'm glad it's a good movie and thank you for the review. I like just about any kind of movie except horror and comedy. Though some comedy is okay.

@Kandae11 Jerusalem is the center of the world. It's where God's people are, and for that reason alone there will always be controversy there until Jesus comes again and the Antichrist is defeated and peace reigns.

I found it interesting that Jerusalem has been the center of controversies for so many centuries - and it is still happening. It is a good movie, but there are a few bloody battles.

Not really @Kandae11 blood is blood and getting blown up by a sophisticated bomb is just as gory as being hacked by an axe.

Oh yes, it did have some gory parts which l skipped over. If there is anything good to be said about wars, we could say that present day battles are much more sophisticated than 12th century ones.
