I Just Learned Something New!

As a person who is technologically challenged I'm always thrilled when I learn something new. I wanted to find the Trademark symbol. Google is my friend....the instructions were not as clear as I would have liked but I found it! My next search will be for the degree symbol. To this point I've always just skipped it..but who knows...if I can figure it out...you might see my temperatures properly displayed. This morning we awakened to -10°C. I'm off in search of a method...then I will return and edit my post. Cool. I wish I'd known earlier.

@Morleyhunt That is something that I will never do. We do not use online banking, I can however do transfers to our son's account, which is linked to ours, over the phone. I think that I can and probably have done that in my sleep before. I set that up prior to his departure from home to live in St Catharines to attend Brock-so many unexpected "necessary" emergencies that kids never plan for had to be covered, so he'd email us (we didn't text then) and I'd transfer.

No....we all learn At our own speed. This morning I tried to send an e transfer. They tell me it's easy....nope after three attempts I wrote and mailed a check.

@Juliaacv I had never done any online banking.....until November. I'm not sure it's something I would do often....but buying a house long distance has shown me just how useful many online features can be.

Interesting! I see the degree symbol but not seeing the copyright symbol. Is this a certain command you do on your keyboard?

My iPad doesn't have a degree symbol displayed. The copyright ©, the trademark™, and the registered trademark® Symbols are found with the emoticons (the smiley face on my keyboard).....oh....the things I'm learning. Why did this take me so long?

See it's actually quite easy when you know how to do it -10°C. Obviously I begin by going to the numbers and hit the -(minus) key. Then type 10......then I hit the 0 key, but hold it down until the ° appears above it and slide my finger up. Why did this take me so long to find?

@changjiangzhibin89 this works on an iPad or iPhone. I'm not sure if it would be the same on anothe tablet.

I'm not that curious as a rule, the emoticon offered by Mylot code seem adequate for the most part...but that missing degree symbol was most annoying.

My old computer keyboard had the symbol on one of the keys....my laptop has the symbol....but the iPad (my usual method of mylotting) doesn't show the symbol.

I printed an ASCII table many years ago and I use it every time I need to type a symbol that is not on the keyboard like © (ALT 0169) for copyright and several letters with accents. I think to remember that registered trademark is ALT 0174 ®.
